..What the disease that my RB white shepherd had...
The bones in his legs grew too long and the rest of the bones couldn't keep up with the growth rate of his legs, and he had to be put down. He was only a puppy, about 10 months old...

Does anyone know what this disease is called, or heard of it? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks :)

I'm not going to be much help, but I know what your talking about. My neighbors Great Dane pup had this same thing and the vet said not to exercise him as much a gave some kind of meds. I don't know the name of the disease. She kept him as quite as possible and gave the meds. He is doing just fine now.

I wish that Polar had some meds :( It looked pretty bad...you know those bones that stick out above the paws? They were huge, and sticking out a great deal...I always thought that was just an indication that he would be huge, because it's supposed to be a better predictor than paw size...
Well soon, he couldn't even walk, and the vet said there was no hope for him :( It was really too bad...he was such a good pup..

In humans, this is called acromegaly. That's abnormal bone growth; giantism; you last description though sounds like osteochondrosis. I'm so very sorry about your pup, Polar:( My deepest sympathies for you great loss.:(
