Hi Everyone

The more I look at the cat trees on the internet (and calculate the HUGE shipping costs) the more convinced I am that they should be fairly easy to make. (Especially with a soon-to-be retired dad-in-law who has a fully equiped workshop - lol!!!

Does any one know where to find patterns / plans for constructing them. Also any recomendations on materials to use etc (eg what type of sisal rope / where to buy)??

Thanks

Peace to Everyone

Julie

Why my Olive keeps peeing in the burner:D Health is OK, but she is still doing it!

I haven't built a cat tree, but when we finished the basement, we wrapped the support posts in sisel (sp?) rope. The boys have hours of fun running up and down. I imagine building some platforms would be fairly simple.

As far as coverings go, I'd use sisel rope and a short haired carpet.

Olive may be trying to tell you something about your cooking.....:D (I'm joking of course.);)

Cooking? What's that?:D That was a good one! Actually I'm paying her to do this so I can get my hubby to buy me one of those flat surfaced stoves!!:D

I have a gas range, so no flat top for me. BUT, I got a new refrigerator delivered today!!! Yea, the little things in life excite me. But, it's so exciting to push the button and have the ice and filtered water come right out! :D Our last one was one of those with the freezer on the bottom. Oh, I hated that thing. I am no chef, so most of the things I cook come from the freezer. Pain in the bum, you know.

I think I posted a thread about this a while back (cat trees, not peeing in burners :)), and got some really good responses - but I can't find the link! I remember Wayne (now L.Wayne) having some good advice on materials and construction. I'll have another look for this thread, it's really playing on my mind now!

Thanks for all the responses - I'll check out the links as soon as I get a chance (I am at work now, as our weekend is Thurs and Fri).

Have a great and peaceful weekend everyone!
