I work as the applications coordinator for North East All Retriever Rescue. We have homed over 200 beautiful Retriever and Retriever mixes in the past 2 years. It's such a wonderful feeling when the perfect family and forever home is matched with a beautiful dog in need of a loving home. I thought I'd post some pics of some recent love matches! The first two were NEARR matches! The last two were NEARR applicants that were unable to adopt through us for various reasons, BUT, persistent me, would not give up and managed to match up these wonderful families with a needy Lab elsewhere in New England! Hope they make you smile! I know the families and the doggies are!:D I'll be back...have to retrieve the photos!

This is Barbara, a special needs teacher and avid kayaker and outdoors woman! This is her first night with Gabby!

Here's Sonja...what a wonderful lady; she's become my second Mom! She lost her beloved Lab Mollly on Xmas day. By Valentine's Day, she and Britney were a love match!

Here's Sarah and Jet! I think they're both smiling!:D

This is Suede!! He sure is happy! He went home to CT. with Liz just yesterday!! (This is his pre-rescue jail photo!) She is a rowing instructor at the U. of Conn. I got an email this morning and he was already at his Mom's side today, at work, ready to cheer on the rowing crew! (He's the mascot!) What better job for a Lab!:)

This is me saying goodbye to Babette as she left for her first night as a NEARR foster. She was my first transport for NEARR and one of the sweetest dogs ever!

Smile indeed! I am grinning from ear to ear. Pictures do speak a thousand words, don't they? If you ever get down, all you have to do is look at these pictures to see what a difference you are making in the lives of these dogs and their people. I'm sure glad you posted these. It would have been a shame to miss them.

YEAH!!!!! What beautiful Labs, Sandra, everyone of them!! I especially loved knowing what each of them is going to be doing with their time and their new owners!! A rowing coach/mascot team!! Wow!!!! :) And thank you for including you and Babette.....I know you fell hard for that girl! I hope she's doing beautifully in her permanent home now.

I hope you will keep this thread going for a long time and keep us up to date on as many of these beauties as you can!!! :)

Sandra,

I'm so glad you posted these pictures of happy Labs and
their new people.:) This is fantastic work you & your group
do. Happy forever homes for deserving dogs & even happier
folks who get to bring them home. My daughter was/is a foster
mom for Central Indiana Lab Rescue & Adoption. She adopted
her first foster, a female lab/mix named Coco. Please continue
to update on North East All Retriever Rescue when ever you
can please. It's great to read the happy ending stories like
these. :)

Wonderful pictures and wonderful work is being done. The picture of Sara and Jet is plastering a big smile on my face. The bond between a child and his/her first dog is so special. I have had a lot of dogs but I still remember my Laddie, the dog of my childhood, in a very special way. Bravo Sandra and I agree with Logan. Let's keep this thread updated!

Thanks guys...!!:) So many sad stories in doggiedom, it's nice to share the happy endings! And if this thread's going to continue, I guess I better get to those applications! (Sitting on my desk a MILE high) And please, if anyone lives in, or knows someone who lives in New England (Mass. Conn., R.I., N.H. VT or Maine) who is looking to adopt a Ret. or Ret. mix OR, needs to surrender their Retriever, please refer them to www.nearr.com or let me know! We even take in dogs in need of medical care and surgery!:)

And dear, sweet, beautiful Malone...whenever your Mom gives you the paws up on getting a brother or sister, just let me know! (I can email you photos for your pre-approval!!;))

Sandra, what a heartwarming post, I absolutely loved all the photos of the new Moms with their new kids. Everyone looked so happy, people and dogs. Thank you so much for putting a smile on my face this morning, it made my day.
