He has a longer name, but I prefer the shorter version!

I hope everything works out and you bring him home for you and Miley girl. I agree she needs someone soon so she doesn't get too used to having you all to herself. ;) :)

Our late Kisi (RB) went under the full title of Kisibi Orphelia - hence the very short name she answered to!!

I think the names Miley and Ti are cute together. I am not 100% sure that this cat will work out for us. Miley is driving me crazy, meowing all the time, and looking around for Graemer and Gabe. I surely hope a new brother will keep her calm and keep her company too. She is sooo lonely. As soon as my car pulls in the driveway she runs to the porch and starts meowing - non stop until 20 minutes after I am inside and sitting down. She never did this before her brothers left for RB.
Fingers crossed for a healthy brother this weekend!

Oh SAS how wonderful. You know they used abys in developing the bengal breed. I wish I could get one too but Maya is the boss and I know she would make my life a misery if I ever attempted to bring in another cat. She doesn't mind bunnies though !!!! Good luck, you and Miley are in need of some fun and games and a lot of laughter. I'll be staying tuned.:)

Yes, my plan is to get a male Aby in June. The breeder where I got Miley and Graemer offered to replace Graemer. I think she felt a bit responsible for having bred a kitty with such a weak immune system. He was quite the kitty when it came to Vet bills even before he got the bacteria infection. I guess he should have been named my million dollar kitty. He had a couple of emergency visits to the vet along with the routine visits. Anyway, I think Mindy, the breeder, wanted to be kind to me and offered another male - any color - and a couple of litters will be ready in June. So I plan to take one then. In the meantime, Miley has to have a friend to play with during the day. I didn't want to get a new Aby right now, since my heart is still broken from Gabe and Graemer's leaving. I like Bengals and was in touch with someone who has one ready for placing. As I said, the deal is not sealed yet so there is an outside chance that I will not get Ti (but I think I will.......) I hope to know tomorrow, as he was to go to the Vet for a clean bill of health.... The cat lives only 1 1/2 hours from where I live. I will keep you posted....and put my camera batteries on charge!!!!!!!:D
Shhhhhhhhhhhh. I haven't told Miley yet!

I suspect I will take the cat with the best disposition. Color isn't really that important. I have had a red aby in the past...these two were rudy.....I would love a blue...but really don't care about the color, just that he is sweet and loveable. It may end up being a female.... I just don't know. It could be that I will be happy with just two and not take the Aby. I am leaving it all wide open with lots of room for change and adjustment.
I just miss my other two so darn much. They were so much fun to be around. Gabe with his beer bottle tops and Graemer with his living on the ceilings....ehehehehehehe...there was never a dull moment. Miley is sweet, and funny, just not the same way or like Gabe and Grammy Crackers!

Sallyanne I am happy that you are deciding to take this next step. Ti sounds beautiful and I don't know very much about bengals so it will be interesting to learn about his breed through you, should you decide to adopt him. Your description about Miley when you come home at night was a heart breaker. Poor widdle Miley girl! I am sure she will love a new little 'sibling' and be happy to show him all around Camp Vermont. :D Here's hoping she doesn't develop a hot spot in the process! :eek: :D

SAS, I remember you mentioned the June kitty when I saw you but if you and Miley are ready for a new one now then I say go for it!:)
I can imagine Miley is lonely when you are at work and extra clingy with you when you are at home. If you do get the Bengal(he is handsome) this weekend, my camera and I are available to take new family photos of you and Miley and Ti on Sunday.;)
By the way, where are you getting him from? Somewhere in Vermont?

I have a feeling that any new kitty I bring in will set Miley into a spin! Shje is not like Grammy was, welcoming everyone and everything with open arms (mouth)....hehehehehehe! I hope now that she is older and a bit lonely that the "hot spot" thing will not happen again. I am getting tired of being groomed all the time and hope that Miley takes it to the cat world as soon as a friend for her arrives. I really think she enjoyed having Doogle the dog around during the loss of Graemer and now she has NO distractions/playmates.
Bengals are very much like Abys, a bit bigger and slighty smarter, I think, but each kitty comes with its own little personality, predispostion, genes etc. Hopefully the introduction, no matter when or how, will run smoothly. They usually do, here at Camp Vermont!
Zoe, I do have a camera ready to roll. I will PM you about Sunday though, depending on when and if Ti is ready for a transfer of homes!
I am getting excited now. Even if Ti ends up not coming to me, another Bengal kitty will be ready in a couple of weeks. Did I mention this in an earlier post?
I have missed posting very much and often here these past few weeks. I just got so darn tired of posting depressing, horrible topics and comments. Now that there is excitement on the horizon, my spirit has returned! Yea!

still hanging in here, waiting to hear the news (good I hope) about the bengal.And concerning the new aby, even though I like to go to the shelter and pick out a homeless waif, I'd sure love the chance to pick out a new kitten. Sounds like an awfully hard task (which one? which one?)

Jen, I really considered a shelter first. And have been looking too. I need a high energy cat for Miley and there is no history for the shelter cats, for the most part. I am not hooked on breeders for any other reason than to have them select the kitten for me. I know that sounds silly, but they are the ones watching these guys and gals grown, interact, eat, sleep, fight etc. so I trust their judgement. I just want a sweet kitten, not one that is king of the hill or dominant. It may be that I end up with a female. Any color for sure!
Also, since this Aby kitten will be given to me (replacing Graemer), I don't expect one that is Show quality....I just want a pet....
As I mentioned, if I sense that Miley and Ti are enough for this house, then I will not take the Aby kitten. (Right Sas, who wouldn't take an Aby kitten...who are you fooling?)...
Oh my, I had better get ready for work!

PLEASE don't think I was "scolding" you for not going to a shelter (darn, I knew it could be read wrong) I just mean I've never had the joy of picking out a kitten, a new "fresh" life, one not "tainted" by the sometimes cruel society. Jen, I didn't take it as a scolding, honestly. I always feel guilty when there are so many kittens needing good homes....and I have had shelter kitties with no problems. Its like buying a certain car, or having your hair cut a certain way, etc. you get to select a kitten/cat from any source. So, lately, I have wanted cats from breeders - I think I have a guility concenience. One of the problems I have with people in general, is not knowing what they want in a cat. I do know what I want. I think that is why I volunteer at a shelter to try to payback society for having NOT shopped at a shelter for a kitty kat!
Anway, no offense taken, really!
I think for those of you who have 12,000 cats - well, I just couldn't do it, but I admire you and all the time, energy and money you bring to the effort! Yikes. Too bad there aren't more people out there like you!

I just got an email from the breeder about Ti and it seems that she wants to do the transfer on Tuesday. Of course, I emailed her right back asking for it to happen this weekend so that I could spend some quality time with Ti and Miley - and play referee. I will keep you posted!

Sounds like this Bengal kitty is already working its magic on you SAS. :) We've missed your posts, and Gabe and Graemer's antics as well. They were special kitties, but it definitely sounds like you know it's time for a friend for Miley. It's so sad that she misses them so much, but I guess that's to be expected when she was so close to Graemer, and even though she didn't care that much for Gabe, I'm sure he, at the very least, provided some entertainment for her during the day. ;) :D
I sure hope everything works out with Ti, but only you will be able to make that decision, and I'm sure you will do what's best for you and Miley girl.

Sallyanne, it would be good if you had some time to spend with the 2 of them because you cannot expect them to be friends from the first moment. Even Tigris and Filou who met each other at the age of 12 weeks (Tigris) and 15 weeks (Filou) did ignore each other for a week's time:eek:
And Bengals as well as Abys are not the let's all be together and have a boring afternoon cats.
But they will be a beautiful couple for sure.
Regarding the Aby kitten. When our boys were a year old and closest friends we could have got a Somali half sister of Tigris. Her name was Filia and we thought she could mix up the balance between F + T and didn't take her. We still talk about that kitten now as F+T are mature gentlemen who are no longer as close as they used to be.:(

Sallyanne, I'm so glad that you've decided to adopt another cat. I think a new cat will help both you and Miley to heal emotionally. Ti is gorgeous and I also love his name. If you shortened Miley's name to Mi and then called both of your cats names with Miley's being first then you have Mi Ti which also sounds like the drink. :) I was also going to wait until the summer to adopt another cat but I recently adopted Cirrus this past Monday. Although I've only had him for a short time, he's brought so much joy to my life. :) He's really helped my healing process too. I sure hope that you're able to adopt Ti this weekend but if not then hopefully on Tues. Good luck. All fingers and paws are crossed. :D
Oh my - only Monday to get through and then it is Ti Day! Yippee! Can't wait! Things are going to be hopping once again at Camp Vermont! ;)

Tuesday will be the day - just don't know much beyond that. As I may have mentioned, the woman who is giving me the cat is out of town this weekend so I don't expect to hear from her until tomorrow.
I am arranging the day off work, if necessary, for Tuesday. What we do for our pets!

I am meeting the breeder on the Vermont side of a bridge up north.....about an hour away from my house. I was hoping she would bring him here and settle him down a bit. Oh well.
Miley can't get a friend fast enough. She is so anxious to play, play, play....all she does is chirp chirp chirp.....
I will take lots of photos tomorrow night, assuming Ti will be out in the open and not hiding under a bed! If he hides I may just divide the house until he gets his footing....
Just cannot wait til tomorrow. I feel as though it is Christmas Eve!

Dandy is still hissing, but they actually ate near each other for a few minutes this morning and then she decided that she wasnt hungry (never happens) ;) Guinness is so relaxed that none of it is bothering him...so as soon as she "wakes up and smells the coffee"...they will be fine :)
I can't imagine that you will have your mind on your work today! Your employer will just have to understand. :) Can't wait for the pictures! :cool:

I know you already know what kitties you want so I'm late in posting this, but just for future reference :) Many shelters have extensive foster programs and you could talk to the foster moms who fostered litters of kittens. When I foster, I welcome any potential adopter to call me about my kitties!
