The foster pregnant cat I have only had four days, delivered FOUR kittens today. I watched every single one being born, and shot pics. Mom and babies are doing great! Here they are...

1st born ..... torti ... so probably female

3rd born... black possibly with gray ... guessing female but not sure

4th born .... dark black ... not sure what sex...extra teeny tiny!

Emma delivered approx every 30 minutes starting at 2:25pm and ending at 4:00 pm.

good luck with them. The one good thing is that I believe they will be the easiest to find homes for when the time comes. You know how people always want babies.

Kim, when I saw these pictures, they reminded me of the times a few years ago when I used to monitor the births of kittens. Is this mama's first litter? Some cats make better moms than others in caring for their first litter. I have had some moms in the past who really didn't know what to do with them. I particularly like the little orange kitty, which is probably a male, After mom dries them off, and begins to nurse, if you pick each kitten up and compare weight, you will find that the male kitties will weigh more than the females. Most of the littlest of the litter are females.

Anyway, congratulations for helping her by providing a safe and warm environment for her brood. You are doing a great job, and who knows, you may be giving some ideas to others on this forum about starting a feline rescue service.

Hi Wayne,

Unfortunately, this is Emma's second (at least) litter! The people who brought her to me, also brought an older KITTEN from her last litter.... who I have named Bonnie. She, of course is un-spayed as well!!!

We will be heading to the spay clinic very soon will several of these babies!!!

Here is Bonnie .......

Kim,

I give you SO much credit, girl. You are doing what I only wish I could do.

I was in animal rescue for 6 years. I T/N/R'd tons of cats, both feral and abandoned, abused and neglected. I also trapped, socialized and placed tons of formerly feral kittens. It takes its toll on you.

Word of caution. Please remember to take time out for yourself. Rescue is all too time consuming. Burn out happens.

Good luck. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. I'll PM you with my phone number.

Thanks so much, Donna! I have my days when I say " what HAVE I done!" .... but within hours ... I'm back to saying, cats are soooo amazing, and I love sharing life with them..... this is GREAT!!! Only problem with that though, is that I have these thoughts of oh well, they can all stay.... OH NO!!!!!!!!

Oh Kim, I just went to your website and visited "Emma's Nursery."
Watch out, that little orange one will be out and exploring the house before you know it. They are all just so precious. Hoping everything goes well for Emma and her little darlings.

Oh, the babies look so plump and healthy. And Emma is just the sweetest. She needs an extra special home after this is all over.:D

Kimlovescats,

NOOOOOO!!!! I had that same philosophy and tried to save the world, looking at every cat I see walking down the street as abandoned. That's how I ended up with 6  Would do it again in a heartbeat :D
