Our Peach is gone.....

Today we took our chesapeake bay retriever, Peach to the vet to have her PTS. She had severe hip displasia, had totally lost all ability to stand, was in considerable pain, unable to control her bodily functions, and had begun to have seizures. We had tried several different medications to control the pain, but in the end there was nothing else that we could do to help her. It was a difficult decision and my heart is breaking right now.

I love you and miss you already.

Oh Robin how awful for you. I am so sorry, and I can only imagine the pain you are feeling right now. Just know that you did what was best for Peach, I know she is running around and enjoying her life at the Rainbow Bridge. You gave her the ability to have fun and be a puppy again, and she will be eternally grateful to you for that. She is watching over you, and I know you loved her very much.

Thank you all so much! I know that she is in a better place, that she feels no more pain and that she is running with her basketball. I knew here of all places, I would find people who would understand my feelings. I am better today, but my boyfriend Dick is suffering so! He really misses her!!

Peach was the last in the line from his best friend for 16 years, Blue and this is kind of like a passing of an era. Blue was Peach's grandpa and Dick also had her grandma, Amber and her dad Chester. So this makes it really hard for him. I just ache for the sorrow in his voice.
