Congratulations Mitch! So you are also one of these cats that believe they are humans if they eat human food (One of those lives here too). Too nice to see you with your apple.
But keep in mind -it is so much better to be cat -a lazy, graceful, playful, charming cat like you:) :)

Mitch you are quite a character! I loved meeting you today and learning all about you!! The apple picture is just priceless, and I know the feeling of having a cat beg for food. My Trevor does that when I eat yogurt! I have never met a Tonkinese before, but if they are all like you they are one terrific breed. Congratulations to you Mitch on your very special day as Top Cat!!

What a handsome kitty you are, Mitch! I've never heard of a cat eating an apple. Just don't eat the seeds.

Some kitties are absolutely special, and Mitch, you certainly are! We just loved your bio...what a fun furrfriend you are! It is so obvious that your purrsons are totally in LOVE with you. Sorry you are plagued with asthma...I know pills aren't fun (our cats hate them too - right up there with the vacuum cleaner, but we won't go there right now). Stay happy, handsome Mitch - we really enjoyed meeting you this morning!

Dear owners of Mitch:

I loved his photo and his life story, especially the part about his penchant for apples!! That is just so unusual.

RE: Daily Pill: I have had to give my cats pills numerous times over the years and several years ago I discovered the PILL PUSHER. It is a pill dispenser, really a small, soft plunger, that is available at the vet's office. It costs about $ 3.00 plus tax.
I bought one for a family member this year and received numerous "THANK YOUS" since, as you all know, when a cat does not want to take a pill, A CAT JUST WILL NOT TAKE A PILL!

I hope this will be of help. Regards from Deborah in Montreal.Regarding Mitch and the PILL PUSHER!

It sounds like the humans of Mitch play some great games with him, but, I must ask them: do you ever sing along with Mitch?

What a sound that must be!

Do you see little dots bouncing around when you and Mitch sing (assuming now that you do sing)?

There are cats here that eat cantaloupe and mushrooms, but apples? According to Patricia McConnell on NPR's "Calling All Pets," apples are supposed to be be repugnant to cats. Well, what does she know? (and yet, were it not for something I heard her say one day, our beloved Calico, Chicago, would undoubtedly be dead now, so please do not interpret the preceeding sentence as harsh criticizm of her).

Wow! What a coincidence! My wife just walked into the office that I share with the black cat, a couple dozen fish and two frogs, carrying a dish filled with apple slices! No lie! She really did.

And now I am eating those slices, even as I type, but the corp has been cut away so I have nothing to share with poor Mitch.

Now, I must take exception to a couple of statements: Mitch does not stand on his hind legs and beg "like a dog." No. Mitch stands on his hind legs as a cat would and with a sense of great, if perhaps sometimes absurd, dignity and authority, demands that you share the food with him that should rightfully be his, anyway. Nor is his breed like Golden Retrievers. His breed is all cat - all cat.

Please do not take offense at these gentle corrections. Mitch is a wonderful cat and your post on him was most enjoyable - in fact, I think you deserve a ribbon for it, a blue ribbon - which I am certain Mitch would soon claim.

Mitch, I got kind of sad when I saw your picture because you reminded me of a great Siamese I had all through growing up. I'm so glad you're COTD! Hope you got lots of extra special attention today :D

Dearest Mitch, I was intrigued by your photo--you look so much like my large, handsome boycat, Mau. If you are Tonkinese, then he is, too. We really aren't sure WHAT he is, but my husband says he must be part badger, because he has such strong neck muscles (and SUCH a strong burrowing instinct) that he can flip us right over in the middle of the night when he wants petties. He's a darling, and so are you, dear Mitch! Long life, health and happiness to you!
