I recently placed an ad in our local newspaper pleading for anyone with unwanted kittens to PLEASE call me, instead of taking them to our dark, dirty, dreaded Pound! The ad came out yesterday, and I got 2 siblings who had been running free in a mobile home park. The wonderful man and wife who brought them to me said that people are constantly dumping cats and kittens there, and the rabies control makes frequent stops there to haul them away! THey said that there is also an expectant momma cat (due any day) that they have been feeding. However, they were unable to find mama cat yesterday, we're hoping she hasn't hidden to deliver, or worse yet ... been carted off by Rabies Control!

The 2 siblings are doing well in my kennel .... the yellow and white is purring lots, but the siamese looking one is still very scared ... though he does like being petted!!! ;)

If anyone here knows of someone in or around Tennessee that could give these guys a home, please e-mail me!!!

Kim, you are doing a good job. If I was set up here better, I wouldn't mind running such an ad in our local paper also. If I didn't live so far away I would like to check those two out.

How about Petfinder.com??? If you get your non-profit status, you'll be able to post pictures of them. If you need any help with writing stories of the kitties, let me know. :D

What a wonderful thing you are doing. If I had the resources and the time I'd be doing the same thing too! I hope you are getting lots of local support and help.

Liongirl ..... I am in Tennessee..... wish I could help! :(

Could you possibly find a foster home for the momma .... so that she will have a comfy place to have her kittens, and raise them til they are old enough to be placed? Maybe place an ad in your local newspaper? Good luck!

Oh.... as far as the kittens being unfriendly ..... they won't be if they are born inside and handled early by humans! One more major reason it is important to bring momma cat indoors to a home environment to have her babies! ;)
