MUGSY!! Yah know, when I was typing this post I thought about you!! You can put as many of them as you want, there all so cute it would be a pleasure to put them on my site.
1. Name and Pet's Name : My name is Alyson and pet's name is Reece.
2. Breed, if known : Poodle/Bichon mix .. mostly Poodle
3. Age if known : 3 years old
4. a short story about its past (if known), like what condition you pet was in when you found it? : I was volunteering at a shelter when I first laid eyes on my boy. His eyes melted me and I knew right away we were destined for each other. We held each other's gaze for a moment before I rushed to his cage and grabbed him and just held him for hours. He was only a year old yet this was his 4th time in a shelter. He originally came from the city kill shelter where he resembled more a tumbleweed instead of a Poodle. He had to be shaved to the skin because of his awful condition. Then he came to my shelter where he was returned 3 times. He was very skinny but I put weight back on him - maybe even a couple extra pounds :) He was only a year old and I was his 5th home! We had to work through some seperation anxiety but he has absolutely no problems now. He loves everybody and everything. I'm so proud of my boy :)
5. Whether or not you found it at a shelter : Yes, he was at a shelter.
6. Male or Felmale - Male
7. Clear Picture

1. Name and Pet's Name : My name is Alyson and pet's name is Lolly
2. Breed, if known : Terrier/Poodle/Dachshund
3. Age if known : 6 years old
4. a short story about its past (if known), like what condition you pet was in when you found it? : Lolly was at the shelter I volunteer at. She was turned in with her mother (a Poodle/Dachshund mix) when her owners got a divorce. The husband shot one of the other dogs she lived with and I'm not sure what happened to the others. She had to endure 5 years of abuse from the man. The shelter tried to adopt Lolly and her mother out together because they were so bonded, but everyone wanted her mother and no one wanted her. They decided to adopt the mother out without Lolly. After her mom left, her personality changed. She kept her head down and growled at everyone that passed by. No one from the public looked at her, no volunteers walked her because she would not get up, and no one cared about her. I just had a gut feeling I had to help her. I requested to foster her with plans of finding her a home. Well, it took about a day before she was stuck at my heels and giving me all sorts of signs she wanted my home to be her forever one. It didn't take much convincing - she was here to stay!!
5. Whether or not you found it at a shelter : Yes
6. Male or Female : Female
7. Clear Picture

Ok, here's my Abbey girl!!!
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid43/p6fe0d96cdcacbdaa0b9d84b3c37a67e1/fce65a68.jpg
my name is Emily, hers Abbey
she is around a year, maybe 16 months
she is a beagle mix, possibly mixed with foxhound or pointer
she's a female
we got her from a beagle rescue
she was in good shape when we got her--She had been recently transported from Ohio with 2 others, to live at the rescue with 14 other beagles. We wanted a playmate for our Shiba, a little bigger than him and female. We had put in an application through our local PAWS, and they gave our number to the director of the Beagle rescue--I told them I had a weakness for beagles, and they passed it on to him. He called on a Friday at 5pm and said he had a girl who sounded "perfect" for us. We went to his house around 7, and brought her home at 8!!!

My Name: Robin - Pet's Name: Carly
Breed: German Shepard & ???
Age: 4.5 years
Gender: Female (altered)
Story: Our neighbors daughter had brought the dog home. They had another dog, a white shepard who didn't like the Carly so he wouldn't let the her eat. We told them for aout 2 months that if they decided they didn't want the pup, we would take her. Their track record of getting pups and not keeping them made this just about guaranteed. So when the finally allowed us to take her we were delighted.
We took her to the vet to get a checkup and her shots (she'd had not ANY vet care up to that point), I asked the vet about the fact she was so skinny. He said there was nothing wrong with her that a couple of good meals wouldn't cure. Well she sure hasn't missed many meals since then.
It took us about a year to break some of the bad habits they had allowed her to learn, but now I'm having trouble hanging on to my dog. Everyone says, "If you every want to get rid of her, I'll take her!" No way - wouldn't trade her for a million dollars - she's a sweetie!!
Shelter: No rescued from bad situation before she had to go to a shelter.

My Two dogs are both Rescue dogs.....
Their names are:
Delilah and Joey....
Delilah I got from StLucie Co. Humane Society on May 27,2000
she was 4 yrs. (that was on her card) when I got her....
She is a Dalmation/Hound Mix....
she is one of the most loving dogs I've ever had...just a big mush(especially if you have food!!!)
her only drawback is she DOES NOT like other females....
Oh well....
she is about 75 lbs...and we all know that BIG Blk./Wht dogs are the LAST to be adopted..(except for All blk.dogs..unfortunately,they are always the last to find homes)
Joey I adopted on August 20,2002....from the Martin Co. Humane Society
He was 8 mos. when I got him...
they said that he was an owner turn in who couldn't handle his size anymore
They referred to hom as a Dalmation/Great Dane mix....
easy to believe....however, as he gets older,I'm seeing alot of white boxer in him,I think....
we took him immediately to 8 weeks of obedience class....with his size...you just had to draw guidelines immediately....
he is such the big love....he adores children....gets along with ALL dogs...
he is around 100 lbs.....but he is stunning (I think)..
I love them both with all my heart .....
I really don't have past stories about them....Deli was on Death Row as she had been there for almost 4 mos...Joey was on Death Row...Deemed Unadoptable, due to size...and his rough play...(he just needed LOVE and OBEDIENCE)
anyway, they are my kids now....when you have some time,I'll share MY stories of them with you....
They are now Loved,Safe,Happy (and one of them is Pudgy!!!)
I'll try to put some pics of them up for you
