I can't wait to buy a house and have a HUGE yard, so I can start adopting more dogs!!!
OH GEEEEEEEZ ! Town Lake is awful. I would ask my manager if we could transfer her to my shelter but we are so tiny and have absolutely no more room for large dogs. I will put some emails into the local Shepherd rescues :(
And you know I'd take her in a second and foster her... but I've already got 3 dogs and a cat in an apartment and thats all the landlord will let me do (complex has a 2 pet limit but they gave me permission because my dogs are so quiet and good).

Oh, Aly I do hope you could get her in a GSD rescue!! She has the sweetest face and those eyes look SO sad. :( Oh, darn, there I go again. Everything is making me weepy tonight for some reason. :( She's so on my mind. I would drive to Austin and get her, but Millie is deathly afraid of anything bigger than her. She literally urinates around large dogs, even if they don't approach her. If I can help in ANY other way Aly, let me know.
Thank you so much! I will let you know as soon as I hear anything. I have some contacts here besides GSD rescue that may take her in if I beg and plead enough.
If you know of any other rescues around me or you, maybe we could arrange a transport thing.
Where is Wylie anyway? (Just looked it up.. near Dallas.. cool, not too far at all)

Angels, aly and micki, she's not that big. She is only 53 lbs. That's not very big. Does that help? Thank you two angels for looking into this.
That face is so haunting. Those eyes are so trusting.
Thank you both for trying to help. I will be praying that she can be saved.
Sue - I get an awful feeling in the pit of my stomach when I look into her eyes. I wonder how much longer she has :( I am definately going to try every rescue group I know of.

Aly, Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've e-mailed the page from the GSD bb where she is posted to Austin GSD rescue, but they haven't answered me. Since she is small and they state mix, they MAY not be interested in her.
Some of these dogs just grab my heart!
Thanks for trying to help her.
There are several mixed breed rescues here who would be thrilled to have her. The only reason that would make them say no is if they do not have space in foster homes. I wonder how she is with other animals.
I'll keep you updated.

I'm sending e-mails as we speak. I only have a couple of contacts. I'd be more than glad to transport!! Oh, I hope someone has space. It would be helpful to have more info on her temperment.
I could go down to Town Lake and meet her *GULP* It is going to emotionally kill me to be there but I'd be willing to do it so we can get an idea how she behaves and how she acts around other dogs.

Don't worry Sue. .. it might not mean that. They have so many dogs there that I'm sure its hard to keep up with putting pics up and taking them off. I'm not sure their exact system for who they put on the website. I will call up there tomorrow and try to get some information.

I'll ask on the GSD bb if anyone is doing anything behind the scenes with this girl. I don't think so, though. They usually concentrate on the Memphis kill shelter dogs.

ALY!!! Her picture is just a red x now on Town Lake. Now I'm really scared. Maybe she was rescued or adopted. Will you still call on her tomorrow to see what happened to her? Ohhhhhhh!!!!!

SHE WAS ADOPTED!!!!! ON FEB 21ST !!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!! :D :D :D
I had been trying to reach them this morning then I had a 4 hour meeting at my shelter but I just talked to someone I know in Receiving who works there at Town Lake and he thought she had been adopted. He double checked in the computer and sure enough, she went home Friday.
GOOD LUCK sweet girl. I hope you got a great home.
(Sue, maybe you can post on the GSD board the great news :D)

When a dog is posted on an animal control or rescue website, the picture is removed when they are adopted or pts.
