Hi, I have a question for you guys what the worst thing your dog has ever done? It can be anything, Like for example the other day My 2 dogs Cody and Cruz were outside in their backyard and well we left a hose hooked up to the facet back there on the side of the house big mistake first of all Cruz (American Bulldog ) hates hoses he always chews them up, well there was this piece hanging off the facet still and i guess it was bothering him. Cody (st.Bernard) could care less he's not much for chewing things. So i am filling my bath and the water stops running i go outside and there was cruz he ripped the hose off the wall and he took the valve spicket thing with him wihich controls all our water in the house water was just shooting out the side of the house i couldn't get mad i had to laugh it was funny, my boyfirend and i went to home depot to get stuff to fix it and we told the guy the story he just laughed he said he never heard of that before, needless to say the stuff we bought didn't work and we had to have a plumber come out the other day but now all is good and up and running silly dogs :) They always keep my on my feet

My dog Patches (coonhound/pitbull mix) chewed up a blue ink pen in the middle of my off-white living room carpet! When I walked in the door my German Shepard was already in his crate cuz he knew there was going to be trouble. And there was Patches.....sitting on the couch looking as innocent as could be......with blue ink splotches all over her mouth and front paws!

I just cried. Then I pulled up the carpet and found hardwood floors underneath!

Tonee (RB) chewed the phone line in half while I was on the phone. While visiting my parents, she dug up ALL the carrots in the garden and took little bites of each one. I tried to tell my Mom there was plenty left of each one, but she didn't want them after a 'dog' chewed on them.... At our house we built a fence around the garden. She would go out in the night to go potty and start eating, stay out for hours if I didn't go get her. Same at an old house, we had to put a fence around the pool, she would go out to go potty in the night and decide to go swimming.

Kelly, our friends dog, pulled a brand new VCR off the shelf and it shattered. She also chewed the computers wires in half while her Daddy was on the computer.

Erin (RB), a friends dog, use to steel from the neighbors. Shoes! They had a big family and always left the shoes outside. Erin came home with them and shredded them in her yard. All they had to do was look over the fence and see them spread out all over. My friends would write checks for like $300.00 at a time to them. One time she came home with a whole loaf of bread, still in sack, must have gotten it as people were unloading the car from the store.

Chester actually chewed up a tube of super glue! Right there in the middle of the living room floor, a huge hard lump in the carpet! And , of course, he loves to get MY underwear (why, oh why?) out of the laundry basket and bring them in the living room. But only if we have guests. :p We now have a laundry hamper and he can't get into that. :D

No it didn't harm him in any way. Believe it or not, he still tries to get the tube of super glue if you're using it!!

timber is generally pretty good, but one time i was riding my bike, and i forgot to look to see any tell tale signs of her having to go to the bathroom...well she had to go, so she stopped, and i went flying forward off my bike...there were guys under a tree right beside me! they laughed at me lol... and timbers tongue was bleeding and my hand was killing me from yanking on the leash when i flew forward...ahk...embarassing...
leather is obsessed with food, and shes also extremely smart, and knows how to open the fridge...well, she chewed apart the bungee cord that was holding our fridge closed (our invented lock :D) and she ate everything! we had just gone to kfc that night, and she ate the whole bucket of chicken, bones and all....we hadnt even tasted the whole mcain chocolate cake and she ate the whole thing! luckily it was only chocolate falvoured lol...that was about 100 dollars worth of food, cuz she didnt leave a crumb...ate every single thing in the whole fridge...then as if that wasnt enough, we didnt have another bungee cord, so she did it three more times! dog has a super stomach, she didnt even get sick...
one time leather also heard racoons under the house in the bathroom so she ripped up all the linoleum trying to get at them...she cut up her paws real bad ad there was blood everywhere
and another time (lol shes so smart shes dumb) she tried to bury her bone in my dads bed and ripped up all the sheets...
eep...lol

We have been very lucky that our girls have not done too terrible of things, but they have had their moments!!

One of the first times we left Sadie the house, she chewed up a pink higlighter....it actually looked like she was trying to paint her toenails pink!

When Cincy was about 6 months old, I left both of them in the litchen for a short period of time while my dad was outside workingon my trucking, I was shopping with my mom and Ralph was at work. I had porterhouse steaks thawing waaaayyy on the back of the stove for dinner. Ralph called and when my dad came in to answer the phone, he found nothing but the bone left on one of the steaks!!

Cincy developed a great way for getting my attention when she couldn't wake me up at night to left her out. Somehow the sound of dog chewing on wood, always gets my attention! unfortunaly, our bedroom door frame now has a new design "chewed" into it.

Gosh, now that you got me started...

up until recently, Cincy was kennel in the spare bedroom during the day while Sadie has the rest of the house. (Cincy is now out with Sadie). I don't know exactly when it was done, but our spare bedroom door has a nice scratch pattern into it...most of it around the handle. I think Sadie missed her sister and was trying to let her out to play!

Well, these two characters haven't done anything too awful, but they always crack me up. When we are not home, they are in a pen in our laundry/storage room (it's the biggest room in the apartment:rolleyes: ) anyway, they started digging at the wall, until they reached the insulation--I think we would have come home one day and found them in the hall, just staring at us, because they wouldn't even know what to do with themselves if they did get out. Abbey chewed up their first two beds, and put a nice tear in the second one (hubby sewed it), Abbey got ahold of a pair of my pants, and now they have 3 tiny holes, no tag, and were missing 3 buttons that I never found:eek:
They're very good though, but we keep EVERYTHING put away!!

Mine haven't been in to too much yet. They have eaten the phone charger and some stuffed animals of course those look like toys, and a dog bed all puppy stuff. My other two before they passes Kori and Boo would work together to get the gate to the kitchen down, open the , locked, rubber banded cupboard the trash was in and get into the trash bad under the sink.Well one day Kori's rabies tag got caught ( because of course it only happened when we were gone and they would run into the living room and lay down like angels when we came in) on the tie for the trash bag when I came home.It was hysterical while she stood there looking so guilty.I had to make her wait and take a picture.I think it is on her web page
www.geocities.com/plwolfpack1/kori-friends.html
They have all scratched up some wood walls or cabinets but I figure that's all part of puppies/dogs.Of course I never leave anything out on counters anymore because I have had definate counter surfers. If it is out it is fair game they figure..All in all I guess I am lucky I never lost my water LOL

Captain is alot older now, and he says he never did anything bad!!! :p
BUT, when he was younger, he had a sock fettish. He would go into the walk in wardrobe, help himself to socks in the drawer (which was open!), and waltz away with them. Not to bad, I hear you say, until one night I woke up, hearing him trying to be sick in the backyard.
Went out to see if he was OK, and found he had thrown up a sock!!!.
I checked against all other socks in the drawer and washing, and found the matching sock. So we thought this was the end of it, as he was bounding around like a lunatic.
I went to work, and came home early. Went outside, and almost stepped in (what I thought) a verrrryyyyy loonnnnnngggg poo - which was ANOTHER sock. It had gone RIGHT THROUGH him ..... I could not believe it!!
We rushed him to the vet, took X-rays, and the Vet (whilst very serious, but with a huge grin on his face) advised that all was OK and there were no more socks to be found inside my boy!!
To this day, I never found the matching sock to the "poo" sock!
He also LOVES soft toys ...... which included my fluffy bear slippers :-(

Ruby, well, what hasn't she done - she chewed the mudflaps on my car and my husbands car, chewed the tow hitch cable, the TV aerial wire that runs along the wall and into the house, the curtain pulleys, took paint out of the garage and made holes in the tin so we had paint all over the backyard, ate my husbands motorbike gloves - so he has 2 fingers on one glove, and 4 on the other! ..... and more recently she chewed the seatbelts in my Pajero!!! The dogs sit in the very rear part of the car - like a stationwagon - and she obviously thought I didn't really need them because "only dogs" sit here, and they don't need the seatbelts!

Love them, in spite of themselves :D

Gannie chewed up the phone wires and dear sweet pearlie mae the one who is the princess and does no wrong is the garbage pail queen got up late for work one morning only to find garbage from one end of the house to the other. the four jack russels that i baby sit ate the door on the dresser   so life is never dull with the four legged babies.

Thought I should add another one. My previous Dally - Leroy - was the master of escape. We should have known this as we found him wandering the streets ......... he got out of his previous home, but no matter how much we advertised we had him, they didn't come for him. So we kept him to ourselves :D

He jumped (or climbed) our 6ft wall, and used to visit all the other dogs in the neighbourhood! He also used to sit ontop of the wall like a statue, waiting for an unsuspecting person to walk by. They, of course, would not be looking up for a dog, and he would bark at them .... giving them the fright of their lives! Then he would slobber them to death!

He also tore through rubbish. On rubbish day, initially, all the neighbours put their bags on the sidewalk, and the rubbish men took them away. Well, the first rubbish day with Leroy, he tore every single bag in the street open - including for ours! So, the following week, we put our bags on top of the fence, and he did not touch them, but opened all the neighbours bags again.
Of course, I had to clean up the mess he made - NOT HAPPY!

By the 3rd week, I had been to each and every neighbour, and asked them to put their rubbish on top of their walls! And they did! Leroy ignored all the bags!

He also had a habit of sleeping on the roof or bonnet of my car!
AND if I left the boot open whilst taking shopping out, he jumped in there! He jumped onto the roof of a friends very expensive BMW once ......

I loved him dearly, and we only had him one short year - as he had an agressive cancer that took him from us within months of diagnosis.

I miss him still

I think I can top all of you thus far.

As I was pulling into my driveway one day I glanced into my backyard to see what my German Sheperd pup was up to. I saw her butt sticking out around the corner and it was obvious that she was pulling on something. I snuck into the yard to find Gracie with a piece of aluminum siding in her mouth happily pulling it off my house. She had about 10 ft. of siding bent back and was still tuggging it off the house when I caught her!!!

Can anyone beat that? :D

Destiny & Dakota haven't been too bad, but they have pulled a few things that they learned quickly was not going to be acceptable in our house. The worse things that have happened around our house is the window sills to the front windows (2 or 3 of those) have been chewed to some extent so Brian will have to replace those. They know now that they better not try that one again. They also destroyed the tv remote that same day and chewed the DVD remote (it's still usable though). We also have to replace the back sliding doors curtain before we move because they have messed that all up (luckily my mom was here and fixed it so that it will get us through until we do get out to buy a new one). So, with alittle bit of mischieve, I believe that we've actually been very lucky because our girls haven't destroyed lots of things, just a few things that I'm not looking forward to replacing.

I could write a book on all the things my 2 little devils have done..

We have bought 50 packs of fricking socks and underwear in the past year it isnt even funny. Oscar *my shih tzu* LOVES socks and underwear *used is always better for him* :o .. I hate it cuz he takes them and burys them in plants and in the backyard.. If he has a pir in his mouth he'll never give them to you he'll run away and when you FINALLY catch him he thinks you are playing tug a war.. ..

As for Tikeya.. Oh man she is another story...

Tikeya is a siberian husky four years youngue. She always goes through the trash *expesally after my monthy visitor comes along  * .. I hate it .. Shell bring all my crap from the garbadge into the living room and eat it .. EWWWWWWW.. Then when I come home with friends they all see it .. It is sooo immabarssing  ... And also Tikeya likes to chase cats but when they turn and face her she runs home .. Tikeya has killed my brothers hamster befor and she also gave my brother kitten a heartattack, so my brother HATES Tikeya.. I love her though, even though she is a problem child..

This thread is soo funny! I can't stop laughing. Malone isn't too bad, really...but he has the knack for doing the underwear thing when company is over. It's embarrassing, really. My oh-so-beautiful lilac bush is slowly disintegrating...I think by next spring only the real thick part in the middle is gonna be left standing. And when we have company over for dinner, he loses any pretense of having manners. Usually he is very good and lays at our feet while we eat...but when we have company, he runs around and barks & begs. And if we put him in his crate, then he just barks & Barks. :o Soooo embarrassing!!!!

Hi again,

Just thought I would add ANOTHER Ruby adventure to the list.

We bought some new plants, and had not got around to planting them yet, so we place them in their pots BEHIND the fence protecting the existing plants.
We have a fence up just to give the plants a chance to grow, and whilst we are waiting for Ruby to get past her puppy stage - which seems like never considering she is already 1 and a half yers old!!!!

Anyway, got home last night, and she had jumped the fence and proceeded to pull all the plants out of their pots and run around the yard ...........

Just keeps getting better and better!!!

Love her STILL

LOUD Louie has only destroyed 2 things in his 4yrs. and they were when he was a pupper. 1 Guitar Cable....much to Daddy's dismay. and 1 plastic toy over his first Easter which is how we found his current Vet. (He answered our E-Mail and calmed down one VERY WORRIED Mama)

Now my Shadow dog (RB) however, chewed up an imported Spanish Coffee table...my parents were less than pleased. And when he got the "Big Snip" he chewed up "The Joy of Sex" book my mother had checked out of the local Library. Chewed it into Itty Bitty Tiny pieces....It was a VERY small town and the Librarians talked about that one for quite awhile. :o :o

I remember my grandma (when she was alive) told me this story about her Basset Hound:

My family was up at our cottage, and the Basset Hounds were playing outside. Casey (there was also Poncho and Gretchen), I believe it was, ran down the LOOOONG driveway, and found a deer carcas on the road. He dragged it back up the driveway, into the yard........and rolled in it. The deer had been dead for days. She had to give him a bath about six or seven times to get rid of the stench.

Every dog can get a bath. You should use hypoallergenic shampoo or cream shampoo if the dogs skin "dries out".

If she gets dried skin....it's most likely that you are using too much shampoo, or not rising it out throughly.

wolfsoul
03-01-2003, 02:14 PM
she was referring to what she said on another post, that huskies shouldnt get too many baths because the water gets trapped in one of the layers of fur ad dries out the skin...huskies dont need many baths anyways, since they generally dont smell bad.

He also chewed the mudflaps & the bra off my car, and ate part of my brand new camcorder. Thank goodness he is older & doesn't do that now!
Now Roxey, she just digs holes in the yard, eats all the bushes & new trees we put out, the cover on the pool, etc....! I hope she too is outgrowing the destructive stage!
But my little rescue Huney, she has been the best most wonderful dog ever. I've only caught her chewing a little of one of our bushes (not enough to really tell), and she tore up Angus's favorite hedgehog. That's about it!

Sorta reminds of what Sadie did as a puppy. We had a crate for her, but it was really too large for training a puppy and we didn't have a devider yet, so we put some cardboard boxes inside it to make a "wall", well Sadie figured out she could get on top of the boxes, do her business out the backside of the kennel up there or even poop out the backside of the kennel, then come down and not have to spend the day sitting in it. She created her own upstairs bathroom :)

Sadie - what a clever girl you are!!!!

yet ANOTHER Ruby advenure ..........

My husband and I went out for dinner - at a restaurant about 10 mins walk from home. It was winter, and we thought we would leave the dogs inside, nice and warm. We were gone about 1 hour.

When we got home, Ruby had pulled 4 DVD's out of the cabinet in the lounge, and chomped through the covers, and left bits of plastic all over the lounge floor - not to mention the now useless DVD's with scratches all over them.
Only 2 days later did I find the CD's she had helped herself too - they were under the Lounge room chair, and I found them when I moved the chair to vacum

Needless to say, we have now placed all DVD's and CD's in a cabinet with doors!

More on Ruby .........

Yesterday, I got home from work to find my precious hibiscus plant ripped out of its pot, and strewn all over the garden. She JUMPED the waist high fence protecting the plants and helped herself to it.

Ruby STRIKES again....

Perhaps I should start a thread - "All the naughty things Ruby did this week". :)

I'm loving this thread! We have a basenji mix, Murphy, and they are VERY curious dogs... selectively obedient as well. Our apartment is a lot more organized than it was in pre-Murphy days. He'll go after socks, underwear, throw rugs, CDs cases, remote controls, books, etc... he knows how to open cabinets (child locks fixed that) and has chewed up one dog bed so far. If you give him a stuffed animal toy, he'll have it disemboweled within the hour. Luckily, he doesn't chew on furniture... they only "important" thing he's ruined is my husband's leather wallet.

He nearly gave me a heart attack last week! I was drinking a glass of water and left it sitting half full on the kitchen counter, on top of a newspaper. A minute later, I heard the sound of glass shattering... and rushed in to find that Murphy had pulled the newspaper off the table and the glass came with it... and he was TRYING TO CHEW ON GLASS! I screamed "LET'S GET A TREAT!!!!" and he dropped the glass shard and came to me for a Milkbone. Thank God he didn't hurt himself.

Life is NEVER boring with a basenji, that's for sure...

Ooooh that reminds me, Kenya also chewed up the first dog bed I bought her.

She did this one other thing, it wasn't so bad as it was disgusting and funny. When she was younger, she used to eat her own poop, and one day when I let her in, she drank a TON of water and then puked up poop chunks and watery diarrhea all over the kitchen (thank god!) floor. It was kind of funny but quite stinky, and really hard to clean up. Bleh.

My dog Valientine is a really good girl and hasn't done anything really bad. But my boxer Blitzkreig (RB) was 80 pounds of trouble!:D

We wanted to keep Blitz in the house, but we could not let him free roam of the house while we were gone. My husband got the idea to start locking him in the bathroom while we were gone. I cam home one day and smelled something really bad. When I opened the door to the bathroom, I realized that my darling boxer had eaten a whole bottle of apple-scented shampoo! I called the vet and he said all was fine that the worst that could happen was "it would all come out" which was the horrible smell. I spent the rest of the day cleaning my bathroom.

We decided to try it again, making sure all shampoo and soaps were put up this time and the next day, I came home to this:

That day, Iwent out and bought a pen so Blitz could stay outside while we were gone.:) Here's a pic of Blitz, you can almost see the meaness in his eyes. LOL!

Our dog jefe(GSD) opened our slide door out back and jumped our fence, jumped our neighbors house, opened here slide door, went into her bathroom sat their and waited for her to get out, She came up maybe 10 minutes after he ran off with him on a leash in a bathrobe. and said he opened her back door and went into her bathroom.

When Jake was a baby he did all sorts of annoying things (chewed up the walls, ripped down wallpaper and curtains, etc. etc.). But the funniest happened one day when we left him in the house alone for a few minutes. We had the front door opened so the breeze could come through the house, so just the screen door was closed. We thought we had it latched, but we didn't.

He went in my daughter's room and found every single pair of her underwear, clean or dirty, and dragged them out into the front yard. Only her underwear! All of our bedroom doors were open - so I wonder why he chose her?

Jake says "Thank you!"

He really is such a good dog. He's so easy to get along with. He hardly ever gets into the garbage anymore! And our underwear are usually safe. Of course it took 7 years for him to mellow out. heheheh. It was worth it.

Oh - Jake loves used feminine hygiene products, too! He has a rule, though - he only carries them down the stairs to chew on them when he knows my daughter's boyfriend will be coming over.

no, i can;t beat it, i don't no if i'd laugh or cry, pepper and jordan don't eat much, just carpet, the corner of my water bed, socks, bra's. i forgive them though, my boy's can't help it. i get pretty upset with them sometimes, when i can't find my bra, and then when i do some of it's ate. pepper was 3 months, he was suppose to be going potty, he ate a cigar. butt. i took him, to the vet, they kept him all dayuntil all of it was out of his system, poor baby hates the vet now but, we built a fence in back , so there safe, nothing to eat, except grass:D

Callihan in his 8 years of life on this planet has destroyed/eaten the following in no particular order:

couch
love seat
drywall
playstation game
tv remotes
clothes
shoes
carpeting
shrubbery
bed
sheets
pillows
pillowcases
towels

I was going to refinance my house a few years ago and had to have it appraised. After she was finished, the appraiser deducted $6000 from the total value of the house due to "Callihan damage"...but I love that boy so much!!!

I used to have a pit-sharpei mix. When he was a puppy, he ate everything. He ate my phone wiring, cable tv, drip system, sprinklers, the stucco on my house, you name it! All my pets have always slept in my house. I got Roxy (husky) like the day after Rosco (pit-sharpei) passed away. We all missed him so bad we had to fill the gap asap. Anyways, Roxy was 1 year old, so I just assumed she'd behave in the house. She was good for hours, so when bed time came, I put their beds in the computer room and went to sleep. The next morning I woke up, and every book was off the bookshelf and chewed up, the file cabinet drawers were open and all the papers were chewed, my husband's cd's were chewed, the desk was chewed, her bed was now just a gigantic pile of fluff. I couldn't help but love her though, because she didn't have the slightest clue she'd done anything wrong. She'd came from a sleddog rescue and was kenneled all of her life. She digs to China too, she actually dug a burrow under my concrete porch.

lol this is a great thread, but no storys that will top everyone elses, but here goes.

the list of eaten houshold items so far, the oldest dog being 5 years old now and still chews things (but only when there is someone watching her strange)

two seater sofa + the 2 matching chairs (clover)
countless dog beds (all 3 dogs)
garden swing cusions (clover, but i saved them)
oh stereo/tv/dvd speaker wiring (theodore)
mums favorite shoe's the day they were going oversea's (clover:mad: )
lol, slippers many pairs over 5 years
dog brushes, 100's of squeeky toys and dog toys in general :)
dod leads collars , ohhh a halti collar (but i got a new one)

clover chewed open a bottle of anti bacterial floor cleaner once (but was fine, and had nice smelling breath)

clover steals food (this is a serious problem with her) so no-one is allowed to feed her treats except for me, but at home she has to work for her dinner and treats from family members (very strict about this)

sure ill think of more lol, but u gotta love em :)

Well, this isn't the worst - Chloe quit destroying my stuff when she was a puppy, but I think it's Chloe's funniest misbehavior. My Chloe is a counter-cruiser, so we have to make sure not to leave food on the counter when we leave the house. She has gotten entire loaves of bread off of the top of the microwave. She'll eat the whole thing except for the end slices. (I don't like those either) But the funniest was when I left an almost brand new gallon container of butter flavored Crisco on the counter. I thought about putting it up, but the lazies struck and I figured it was Crisco and it had a plastic lid on it, right? Well I got home and she had eaten the entire container of Crisco. I kept a close eye on her and slept on the couch that night expecting her tummy to be pretty upset. Nope, the only "side-effect" was really shiny fur for a while. Now everything remotely edible is removed from the counters before she is left unsupervised.
