i brought mojo and her kitten, magic, home on labor day weekend. he was born late june 2002, we guessed she was around a year old. before they came, i researched cat foods and chose innova dry and canned. the ingredients are very high quality, human grade meat and veggies. magic is turning into a sleek muscular comic. mojo is becoming a little 'chubby' lady. she has a little belly, but i can feel her ribs easily. they both eat from the same food bowl. the dry food is 3/4 cup twice a day and the canned is a "plop" on a plate when the dogs get their dinner. (since the dogs eat a home prepared raw foods diet for health reasons, the cats were VERY interested in the dogs' food and the "plop"of canned was a compromise to keep them away from the dogs food bowls). magic is now 8 months old, and since mojo is chubbing up, i thought i'd start mixing lite and regular innova until mojo loses a few pounds. does anyone think it'd be a problem for a growing kitten to eat a lite food. thanks for the help

I really don't think it would hurt Magic to eat the lite mixed
with regular food. I believe in free feeding cats & they always
have the dry food available (three different kinds)
The can food is 1 can shared between the 4 indoor kitties
twice a day. The 3 outdoor kitties get 1 can apiece once a day
and have the dry food available all the time. It's not unusual
for females to gain a little weight after spaying. She should
level out eventually. Goog luck with the kitties. :)
