Poor thing :( Atleast Guiness World Records are nice with their decision, but they should scratch the category alltogether then so no one else tries this.

I agree with you Lut...that's a personal pet peeve of mine...when I lived back at home, our neighbor had a middle-aged cat...he was beautiful except they constantly fed him table scraps. The poor thing could hardly waddle, had trouble in the poop department (constant constipation). They said they couldn't resist his pititful eyes. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. That's not looking out for their pet's best interest, which IMHO is much more important than giving in to what the pet wants.

I don't understand why they aren't being charged with animal abuse. The owner said: "Dairy products are good for her" ... um.. excuse me? Do a little research lady - many cats are lactose intolerant. Plus.. two fish in the morning and 200g of meat at night? Why aren't they feeding her CAT FOOD so that she can lose some of this weight. If the cat was always mating, have her spayed. This is just sick.

Poor poor pussycat. I just don't understand these idiots who could do this and think nothing of it. They say he doesn't eat that much. Yeah but it is what they are feeding him that makes the difference. These people should be educated on the proper care of an animal. It's a shame.

i dont think they realize what they r doing...they speak as if it is normal....how much is 200 grams of meat? is that too much? i dont know anything about measurements, really...
and what about feeding hormones? does that really make them stop mating? i wonder y they didnt just fix her....

This is so sad :( and it also makes me mad. I'm so glad that Guiness Book doesn't have this catergory any more. These people need to be educated and if they continue to feed her this way then she should be taken away from them so she can be fed a proper diet.

that is really discusting, that poor cat! How can any owner let their cat get that way? That poor thing needs Science Diet Light!!! My cats are all on it and are maintaing absolutely purrrfect weights. Whenever people come over, they are always amazed at the fact that none of my cats are fat. That always makes me wonder.....

Here I am freaking out because Olivia is getting a little "large" in the tummy area because of the sensitive tummy food Noah needs to eat.
That is just terrible!!! I would consider this animal cruelity. Ignorance is NOT an excuse.

Oh my! That is simply dreadful! She might have been fed hormones beccuase its *cheaper* than an operation. However, I never knew that could be done... I hope that its not human hormones that they are feeding the cat .... I feel for that cat - it needs a good home. 200g of meat btw is like a handful and WAY too much for a cat.
Bastet can eat around 25 to 50g but that is pushing her meat level at 50g - 200 to 300g of meat is what humans should eat daily - that IS a lot of meat.

I also agree that this is animal abuse! How could anyone do such a thing?

This is inhuman, to treat an animal in such a manner. Two fish and 200 grams of meat--200 grams of luncheon meat will last me a whole week-- is far too much food for a cat. This amount of food in one day might be okay for a St-Bernard perhaps, but not a cat. These people should be banned from owning any animal...FOR LIFE!
