View Full Version : Edwina is angry with me...

Friday evening I had to do the grocery shopping   (I have spent years perfecting my inability to handle this task!)
My husband always gets Edwina a 1/4 lb of Sara Lee Honey Roasted Turkey -- sliced extra thin. I decided the additives -- honey and who knows what else -- are not good for her -- so I bought Sara Lee plain Roasted Turkey -- sliced extra thin.
Edwina has not spoken to me since. This morning she refused to eat it and instead of coming back to bed for a snuggle with me (after coffee/turkey with my husband) she went to the Forbidden Yellow Chair and napped.
When I left for work and went to the Forbidden Yellow Chair to say goodbye -- she ignored me.
I guess I will be stopping at the grocery store on the way home!
(Did someone suggest she has me well trained!?!?!?!?)

LOL oh Edwina is not spoiled, not in the least!
but a beautiful girl like her deserves it right?
that is so funny that she ignored you... maybe next time you get a different flavor, have your husband give it to her, then HE will be ignored. hehehe

Sara, you are not alone!
Daddy's -Little-Princess- Mocha Bean likes Velveeta cheese singles. (ICK!not to mention $$$$) "Evil" Mommie once tried to pass off cheaper cheese....imagine the horror! No Beanie kisses for Mommie, until she replaced the Offending cheese!
I too had to go back to the store to buy the right goodies.
Yes, I guess I am well trained too......:D

Oh Edwina, did anyone say you're a spoiled little brat! How COULD you mom fob you off with Sara Lee plain Roasted Turkey instead of Sara Lee Honey Roasted Turkey! Has she forgotten you have style!! ;)
We did something silly this evening. For an appetizer, we had Italian Carpaccio. Guess who LOVES it - Yes, Fister!! Hope he'll eat his normal grub tomorrow!

Oh Edwina please don't be mad. We humans can really screw things up sometimes, huh. Don't worry, train us hard enough and we'll get it right!

Don't let Nakita see this thread!!!
Edwina: Filou and Tigris agree: honey is important for smoked turkey :D :D

Juni does that too when I don't buy her favorite treats :)
But you are right, Edwina, honey is a must for smoked turkey.

Oh Edwina, you mustn't be so hard on your momma. She's only thinking of your best interests when she buys plain boring turkey. I think she got your message though, and your favorite honey roast will be back in the house very soon. ;) :D
I have to admit, I like the honey roast better than non-honey roast too. ;) :D

Edwina has forgiven me! I promised to only get Sara Lee Honey Roasted from this moment forward and she is again snuggling with me. (And...with great disdain...eating the unhoneyed meat...)
Oh...the things she puts up with!
What is amazing about cats is that they also know what is in your heart and because of that they are able to forgive you - until you buy the RIGHT kind of turkey! But don't let it happen again:D :D

Edwina has good taste. I tried some honey roasted turkey for the first time today for lunch. She's right! It is good. Thanks Edwina!:D

*LAUGHS OUT LOUD*
I thought I was the only one that had offended her cat with the most inadequate of dietary needs (no mint peas for Bast anymore!).
And yes the midnight dash the the local 24 hour store has happened because of Bastet's insessent inability to let mummy sleep because she got fed not the super dooper brand of sliced turkey meat she likes with gravy but the stuff with out the gravy and slightly thinner (or so she thinks).
The continual patting of the face and meowing at me to feed her (not that she didn't have other food to choose from) forced me to do the midnight crawl to the 24 hour place to get her - the best.
To say the least when I finally got home, I put it down for her after she did the smooge and she sniffed it, buried it and went to curl up on the bed! Not one damned mouthful was eaten until the morning!

Now imagine any of us doing these things for skin kids - NO WAY! But we'll turn into obedient patsies for our treasured cat babies in a second. (Although I don't think I would get out of bed and go to the store to buy a special food - I'd have to enforce the "tough love" option and make him/her wait until morning!)

Definately LOL!! So funny these!
The other week when Dan was having his bit of bladder trouble - I had to feed him wet food - orders of the white coat - he thought it was his birthday and Christmas all together!! By the end of the week, whenever he saw me pick up his food bowl he'd run upstairs, where he'd been kept in 'solitary', sit in the bedroom and wait patiently for Mummy to arrive with food! Which she did!!! Thank goodness he's better now and can 'muck in' with the others as usual!!

As my mother always told me..."This ain't no friggin Howard Johnsons. Eat it or go hungry." Brings a smile to my face everytime.
Sorry to get off the subject. Yes, I too am guilty of catering to my cats. There are other vices  that are much worse. :p
Besides, Lady Edwina DOES have tastes. And I agree that the honey does make the difference.
Glad you guys kissed and made up. :D

Edwina, is your yellow chair like my "kitchen throne"? When mum & dad tick me off, I show them "what for" by not sitting in the same room with them, and I have claimed THIS chair as my throne! WHERE is that tiara!?

Well, I'd like to say she never bothers it, but she does have this obsession with a two-inch spot on one arm of one of the chairs....she goes away when we say no, but when we aren't there---otherwise she'smostly interested in sleeping in it
He he , if one word is definitely NOT in a cat's dictionary , it is the word "SPOILED" ...
Miss Edwina , you have your humans well-trained ! good on you girl!!!

You got me!! I have thought that before. But I never found an answer why. I am convinced it would be completely wrong for a child if he/she would get anything the same moment they asked for it.

1) The long term consequences of spoilt children is far more negative than spoilt pets and
2) Spoilt pets are more grateful (if only a little in the case of cats!)

Edwina is simply a woman of excellent taste, that's all. Clearly she is a princess. My boys also enjoy their deli meats in the morning. A few pieces always fall "accidentally" to the floor when I make my sandwich.
