This is a dog at our local rescue organization. I had tears in my eyes reading this:
Princess is a 10 month old shepherd mix (mostly shepherd) who just had a litter of 10 puppies. By the time we got to her the puppies were 3 days old and five had already died from dehydration, two more died that night in spite of valiant efforts to syringe food into them every hour, another died the following day too weak to even swallow. Momma has pneumonia and kennel cough as do the two remaining puppies. She is too young herself to properly take care of puppies, she only weighs 40 lbs and the vet bills are mounting. Princess has a remarkable temperament, she is gentle, affectionate, desperate to be part of someones family, she is housebroken, very well behaved gets along with both dogs and cats and is doing well on her medication. This puppy will make some family very happy with her winning ways.
I still find it hard to believe that these things can happen :( :( :(
