Meowing cats driving us crazy

I have two male cats, both are neutered male. They meow in the early mornings at around 4:30am or 5:00am but Toby starts when we just getting in bed. Joey isn't as bad as Toby but he can be bad some mornings, he meows at my door and I have to let him in, i put dish of kibbles down soo he can eat them then he wants back out of the room. They both are quiet through the day. Toby is worst for sleeping, he sleeps are all day and night. when he meows my mom has to get after him with the water. They get their feeding early in morning around 6:00am, sometimes they shut up and other times they still meow. I have to mention this Toby is declawed on all four paws and has a broken foot, he was like this when we adopted him. I just want the meowing to stop all together, also we leave the radio on and one light on. I figure that he is meowing because he been declawed and has a broken foot. Any suggestion, please help and reply to this message. Thanks for your time and consideration. Does anyone else have a meowing cat?

1st cats are nocturnal, so it is natural to be more active at night.
2nd some cats are simply more vocal than others.
3rd it sounds like they'd be happier with you in your room than locked out, so if this is possible, I'd let them in, or keep the door ajar
4th they have figured out that when they meow, you feed them or let them in. In other words they are training YOU.

I doubt either the declawing or the broken foot are to blame......unless tehy are in pain..

Bastet would meow the leg off a table if I don't let her in my room. She chooses whether she sleeps on th bed or not but she makes a rucuss if she isn't with me.

Despite cats being independent they sure rely on us for company a great deal!

I would keep the door ajar for starters.
Feed them both just before you go to bed so they get out of that habit of begging for food at 4am in the morning.
If that doesn't stop then its bathroom kitty timeout time.

We use the water bottle on Toby and that works for awhile then he forgets about meowing then he starts up again. Joey isn't as bad as Toby, sometime I would only have to let him in my room two times. I feed before we go to bed and when I get up their is kibble still in his plate. I think he is selfish wants everyone up. I try have my door open a little bit, that didn't work, Toby would meow in the room soo I had to kick him out.

Well it sounds like Toby has a more serious problem. Meowing constantly and never being content is a sign he may be in pain and he is trying to tell you. I, personally, feel you should NOT spray him with water because he is meowing at you he is trying to TELL YOU something!! :mad: :mad: :mad:

He doesn't seem to be sick because he eats like a pig and he doesn't meow too much through the day. Well, Toby meow in the litterbox, is that a sign that he is sick. Toby purrs alot, can that mean he is not feeling well.

I would take Toby to the vet if he is meowing in the litter box. He could be having trouble with doing number ones and number 2's.

It would not hurt to get him checked out. At least then you can either put it down to a behavioural problem or a medical one.

I checked the littlerbox after he uses the box, to see what he has done and know when he has done something because his stool really smells.
