My little Dandy has got a pretty loud meow...especially when she wants something, like food at 6 am in the morning ! Sure, my son finally sleeps until 8 am and now the cat wants me up at 6 am, LOL ;) :D A mommy's work is never done! LOL ;) She is just a little stinker...she turns her nose up to dry food, though will nibble on it through out the day, but she must have her canned and it must be sliced or chunked...no mushy food for her!!LOL :)...

Anyway, I am just not used to a cat begging for food...b/c Gabe (Savermont's cat)...never begged...and he rarely ate wet food...its just funny, all of the different personlities...

Maybe, she'll let me sleep in a little longer, someday :) tehehehe :) I usually make her wait a little while, I dont jump at the first meow...but i cant have her waking up my son either...he'll be cranky, cranky, cranky. So, sometimes she goes in the computer room and will nap, or watch the birds until i am ready...but there is no training a cat, like there is training a dog, thats for sure :) None the less, I love my little sweet girl and i wouldnt trade her in for the world!!

We have been talking about that problem here: Filou and Tigris also have the 5.30 a.m. session with many tricks and I think it was Sallyanne who said: Never start to feed a cat in the morning.

Unfotunately I forgot the thread. It may have been one of Fister's because he is also acting drama in the night.;)

My advice is to feed her after you eat in the evening. So that she will have a full tummy all night. I learned the hard way - and my current three never expect any food in the AM, just at night. Once you start, it can get ugly. So bite the bullet and shoo her away when she starts. She will get the message eventually. You may want to close your bedroom door or put her some place where you cannot hear her.....like the basement, when she starts. She will get the message, trust me. She is still young!

You are right, Gabe does not beg at all. None of my cats are big eaters.....they nibble and that is about it.

Good luck. Be tough!

You know, Sallyanne is right! If you give in, your little Dandy will want food EVERY day at 6 AM. Ignore her and she will eventually get the message! ;)

I feed Fister just before I'm going to bed and there's no miawing early in the morning. He will come up in our bed, but just to lay in between us and wait patiently. :)

Oh sorry Randi, that I thought Fister was also wanting food in the night. We always feed Filou and Tigris before we go to bed but if it's earlier than midnight they will come -especially on weekends.

I have only one furkid that bugs me inorder to eat, namely Tiger. In fact, she makes herself sometimes aggrivating because of her constant needing something from me. She says; " daddy I want to eat" or, "I want outside", or " I want to lay in the windowsill", or "scratch me":) It is always something:D I really do not know what to do to keep her from jumping on my shoulders to let me know that she wants something. And this behavior usually happens first thing in the morning when I stumble out of bed, being semi-conscious, when I go for my first cup.:D
