I was sound asleep, and got woke up to the sound of a cat crying...of course I thought something was wrong with one of my babies...Charlie was ok...Patches..... Louise.... Cassie... Emma....everyone ok, THEN I heard it again. the black kitty that I saw outside was crying out there!
I hadn't filled it's food and water dishes, and today moved its "house". I wasn't sure it was actually using the house, guess now I know! so it really must be a stray!all I could do was say oh poor baby and talk to it in a soft voice trying to keep it from running away. I brought food and fresh water out there and set them by the gate then watched from the window as it ate...and oh the kitties inside were so excited!I told them "don't get any ideas guys, he's not coming in". I fixed his house up again with a warmer blanket, and I hope he will come back, he was eating then ran when I went back out there, seems I couldn't leave well enough alone, had to try to pet him.
oh no...I just named him unofficially. George. or georgette.I will do whatever I can for the sweet kittycat but I can't bring him inside. of course if I can catch him I might bring him to the vet to see if he's ok.oh damn, he had to go cry.
my cats are all running around inside now and Patches got out one time, I had to grab him!

Jenluckenback don't even say it.:)

Yes and it would be much better for him/her if he/she could see the vet........
No, I don't say it. (Jen, you could.....)

You might have to reserve 'mom of 7 cats' just in case ... :)

Glad Jen said it. ;) :D

I agree with the others that if you could get him/her to the vet, that would be a good thing, just to make sure certain "parts" are gone. Once you do that well, then...we'll just have to let nature run its course as to whether he/she becomes a house cat or not. What did you say your new name was....Mom of <how many> cats? ;) :D

I guess my name would be Dad of 13 cats , I said 10 would be the limit , but then I had the chance to add 2 abused cats BJ the siamese and Rocca , who was scared of her own shadow , then Sheba , who was once promised to my late mother , and was an orphan! 13 is the limit! But there is a stray , maybe I could leave some samples , after all it cant be allowed to go hungry... I know just what you are going through , Mom of 7 cats?

Isn't it amazing how we all have the same weakness (love) for cats? I can't go anywhere without noticing a cat and wondering if it's a stray or has a home. But I'm at my limit with 6 now. Of course, T.C., what's one more poop in the box???? :D

the cat I heard last night, I saw him again today around 5 PM.
its a big, black cat, not the smaller black and white one I thought it was. this makes 3 cats I have seen. and he didn't let me near him. I can't have any more cats anyway, I can't afford the vet bills and its hard giving them all medicine when they all need it. I will see if the kitties belong to anyone, and I will feed them and provide the shelter, a box and warm blanket, but that's all I can do. it bothers me alot.
all the posts in reply to my thread were funny. I would take them all in if i could. these cats are still adjusting, so I would hate to upset them all again.
Muffin is living at my moms, she is sooo happy there. and I live close so I can see her 3-4 times a week. she sits on the table or counter, like a princess, so happy. her and Callie both are. she would have been miserable here with the other cats.

no, no chance. but I will do whatever I can for them. I love them, all kitties.my cats are still adjusting to each other, Emma and Cassie are just now making friends, well they always got along, but it seems they are bonding now or whatever it is called. so cute, slept next to each other on the foot of my bed last night, and this morning, Emma licked Cassie!
