For those of you who don't know Drake, let me just tell you that he is a very healthy 2 and a half year old pup. He has been housebroken since he was 4 months old and hasn't had an accident since then EVER!

This morning as I was making the bed, I noticed the sheets were soaked at the feet. Upon exaimining the rest of the sheets and blankets, I found out it was urine! Drake had wet our bed! He was still a bit wet himself. I freaked of course! Drake has never done this before! He ALWAYS wakes us up if he needs to go outside. He had done that the night before and the night before that!! He seems alright, Not acting any differently.

I, of course, am frantic. Is he OK? What could have caused this? Was it an accident? We called the vet's office and they weren't in today. Drake will be going in tomorrow to get checked out.

Any ideas anyone?

Souraya,

Sorry to hear this about Drake. The first thing that comes to
mind would be an infection. Bladder, UTI, etc.? I'm glad he's
seeing the vet tomorrow so you can nip this in the bud & Drake
gets to feeling better soon. As you know, dogs can be sick with
some infection & still manage to act normal in most ways.
Good luck tomorrow for you & the Draker.:)

Our Eli recently had accidents in the house. He hadn't had one in the house in years. His was diahhrea, but after a day or so it cleared up, so we suspect he ate something that didn't agree with him. :(

Souraya,
I just read a similar post on a Golden Retriever board. A male dog who has started wetting his bed (3 times in 2 1/2 weeks). This happens often in females, I think, but you rarely hear about it with males. My bet would be that it is a urinary tract/bladder infection and you will get him straightened out in no time.
Hugs to Drake, and good luck at the vet's.
Logan

Well, Andrew and Drake just called. (Oh yeah, Drake is a talker. He can say Mama!) The urine and blood work on Drake came back fine. No infection or anything else! The vet told Andrew to tell me not to worry. It could have been something that he ate. He did tell us to keep an eye on him and see if that happens. "It could have just been an accident."

We'll see. I am still not convinced though!

maybe a second opinion would help?

I have no idea what it could be but Phred has offered some great advice. I guess I shouldn't say this but.... perhaps he had a not so normal *wet dream* Has he been around any exciting girl dogs lately?

WHEW! I am glad you didn't get upset at my response! After I posted it and started thinking about it, I said "Candy, how could you post that comment? You know Souraya is really worried and you are joking around about what it might be."

Hopefully it doesn't happen again!

Kia lately has been drinking a lot of water before bed and in the middle of the night and then waking me up at 3 or 4 in the morning to go out.

I of course was letting her have the water because I was afraid she'd get dehydrated. Now, I take the water away before I go to bed and take her outside to go potty.

No more a.m. wake up calls! ;)

I hope it was just an accident. Poor Draker.
