Hello it's me Samantha using my laptop on the train! I met Miley, Graemer and Gabe at the train station in Essex and now we are headed south to Massachusettes to get on another train west to Chicago! Miley is here next to me, she is very excited to be travelling, I get the feeling she doesn't get out much. She also doesn't know how to travel light judging by the amount of luggage she brought for a weekend trip! It is a good thing Graemer was here to help her carry everything! She has also been kind of whiney about the cold weather and keeps saying why don't we go somewhere warmer? Gabe and Graemer are up in the dining car getting some coffee right now. I plan to take a nap before lunch. Hope to see you soon Tubby!

Hey Samantha, don't talk so bad about my best friend Miley girl. Abys always travel light because we are so slim.:cool:
And we have the colour of mountain lions -so we can get along in the desert as well as in snow -just like mountain lions.

We are due to arrive in Springfield around 2 o'clock, you can meet us at the station.
Anyone else who lives in upstate New York, Ohio or Indiana is welcome to hop on the train too!

Filou, Sorry about what I said about Miley earlier, I have been getting to know her better and you are right she is a real sweetheart!
It turns out most of her luggage is full of presents, most of them for Edwina!!! It seems she idolizes the girl!
We are still trying to find the camera Miley packed so no photos yet!

Tubby my love, I am so happy you will be able to meet us at the train station.
We made the connection in Springfield and now we are on the Lake Shore Limited train.
It will be a long trip though since it isn't due to arrive in Chicago until just before 7AM!
Miley and I are sharing a cabin in the sleeper car, she insisted on the top bunk which is fine with me.
Graemer and Gabe are in the compartment next to us. I can't wait to see you!
Tell Peanut I think Miley packed a little something for her too!

I poked Tubby to tell him you'd be arriving at 7 AM. He mrrowwed in his throat which I took to mean...Perfect! I'm always up at that time and will have plenty of time for a good night's sleep before you arrive. Saturday mornings I usually spend in the garage with my daddy, but since it's kind cold around here this weekend, I think we can skip that since I don't know if you like hanging out in garages, my Sweet. Instead I can show you some of the sites around town, head back home for some lunch and hopefully the sun will be out so we can lounge around together in the sun. Then it will be time for dinner and we'll have to see what the evening brings. Have Graemer, Miley and Gabe mentioned anything about what their plans are? I'm not sure if Gabe and Edwina will be going out if those durn pap-who-sies are still following them. And wouldn't it be fun if all those tuxies from Ohio would join us?!?!?! We could throw a formal party since everyone will be in black and white - except for Graemer, Miley and Peanut, and we can make an exception for them.

Counting the hours my sweet. Now I really must get back to my nap so I'm not tired when you get here.

Debbie here again, Tubby you old fuddy-duddy you. Why are you always so worried about your nap for cryin' out loud? You can get plenty of sleep when they all go back home. Sheesh!:rolleyes:

Our train just left the Buffalo, NY station a little while ago. The next stop will be in Erie, PA just before 11 PM.
Miley is in the next room hanging out with her brothers, she says they always stay up late and get up early.
I will be going to sleep soon myself and dreaming of you sweet Tubby!

Georgia I really wish you and the other herd members could join us but after looking at the Amtrak route map I see that you live in the way southern part of Ohio(you don't even have snow on the ground in that photo!)
and the train route goes through the way northern part of Ohio.
If you can get there in time we will be stoppng in Cleveland at 12:40 AM, Sandusky about 2 AM and Toledo about 3 AM.
I will understand if you can't make it, maybe we can get together next time.

The heck with putting my cat on a train; I want to go on a train! A cross-country Amtrak trip is on my list of things to do before I die (or Amtrak dies), but I just can't afford it. :(
I've been fascinated with trains since I was a kid. The Amtrak train comes through Milwaukee daily on the way to Seattle, and I used to like to take my daughter, when she was little, to a park near the train tracks, so we could wave at the Amtrak as it went by. :o :p (We're pretty easily entertained around here, what can I say)

Ohhh, am I too late? Mom and dad have been really annoying lately, rearranging furniture, yesterday they bought this big thing that I thought was a neat house fo rme, but apparently that TV-box thing must have dones omething really nice because they bought a whole big special house for it. Now I can't even crawl behind and turn the little switch on and off by stepping on it...so, cruise by Indy and a few miles west - I'm right on the way to Chicago - or I could get mom to drop me off at Union Station in Indainapolis....wait...that would require a ride in that awful pet carrier thing.....and...it's really cold out.....


How bout you guys send me postcards and photos of the trip? I gots to keep my eye on my hoomans, they keep changing things around here!!!

Well, I finally got some information out of my cats, as to why they returned earlier than Samantha. It seems that Edwina had some reservations about spending more time with Gabe, once she saw Graemer. Gabe's feeling were terribly hurt, but then he realized that Miley was available and hey, she lives in the same house with him. So, it seems that Edwina and Graemer are now calling each other at night and have been making plans to get together the next time. Miley and Gabe have decided to take it slowly - this falling in love thing and they hope they can continue to be friends, even if things don't work out.

Anyway, poor Samantha had to come back on the train by herself. It was Gabe's idea to leave early even though he is the one who created the problem. It seems Winny was not wild about the amount of beer Gabe consumed - and preferred the wine drinking Graemer. Graemer is also younger than Gabe and I think Winny prefers younger men.

So, I shall be careful when I send my three off the next time.

I had no idea that there were such goings on. Samantha and Tubby had such a wonderful time and they never hinted at anything so unsettling as all this. Poor Gabe to be rejected after such a long trip. But lucky Graemer! Hopefully Gabe will grow on Miley because I thought she wasn't too hot on him - but that must be why they're taking it slowly. ;) :)

Such are the perils of introducing your family to your beloved. :rolleyes: :)

Dearest Winny,

I know that you had a relationship with Gabe and were quite fond of him. I truly feel our relationship has much more potential because we have much more in common. Although I like Gabe, I think he has mood swings and at times can become quite aggressive. I, on the other hand, have a great deal of energy and can be considered a real "love bug"... I was even nice to Gabe when he first arrived.

So Winny dear, please be my Valentine this year? I will send as many flowers as you wish - and a box of chocolates from "Lake Champlain"....

Wow! I hadn't realized what went on with the other cats that were with Samantha and Tubby!
Samantha said she really didn't mind riding the train home alone, it was much quieter without the other cats.
She said she slept most of the ride home because she was so exhausted from staying up late the night before talking with Tubby.
Now that she is home, all that she can talk about is Tubby this, Tubby that, when Tubby comes here to visit, Tubby Tubby, Tubby...;)

So that's what all the racket was! I woke up a few times and was wondering what in the world was going on upstairs, but I figured I'd leave the love birds alone.

Tubby has been kinda quiet since Samantha left. I don't know if he's feeling quite his usual self. He threw up twice yesterday so he might have caught a touch of something when he was out and about seeing as he's not used to all that activity. He's been on the couch non-stop since, with the occassional foray to eat and use the litter box. Maybe he's got that darn love sickness. ;) :D
