View Full Version : Help needed in California - need dog pulled
Can anyone help me get a dog out of the San Luis Obispo shelter and onto a transport?
It's a female border collie smooth coat, red and white. I don't know how to get her out of the shelter. Advice and assistance greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Maybe you could contact Border Collie Rescue of Northern California...... http://bcrescue.dogsaver.org/

I can be part of a transport if needed. Are you interested in adopting her? Do you know someone who is? Maybe we can arrange a foster family for her? Rescue groups are also good resources and I can help with transportation in the northern CA area if needed.

I rescue border collies in BC, Canada. We happen to have some space at the moment and I really like the look of that girl. I'd be happy to have her.
I work with BCR WA and can arrange transportation through WA State via that network, but it's getting her pulled from SLO and tansported through CA where I need help. A temporary foster home might be necessary also, depending on when she needs to be pulled out of the shelter.
I believe I have posted on the BCR mailing list but heard nothing back so far.
Thanks!

Wonderful!! A new member of PT who is involved with rescue! :D Welcome to PT by the way! :) I'm sure you'll love it here and become addicted just as much as we all are. I'd love to hear about your sweeties!
As far as rescue, I live only 3 hours away from San Louis Obispo, so I could always go down and get her on a weekend sometime if there is other transportation arranged for the drive further north. I may be able to go as far as Sacramento? I've never participated in a "railroad", but do let me know if you need the Bay area leg of the drive. I can more than likely help out for that one! Do keep us posted. She does look like a sweet girl! :D

Thank you!
I am waiting to hear from the shelter. Several people have offered to help with puling and transport, so we may actually be able to pull this off. I hope we can as I am looking forward to meeting this dog, very much.
Thanks!

That's great! Do let me know what they say and if I'm needed to go down and "bail" her out or to be part of the "railroad"! :D

Thanks everyone!
My beautiful girl was adotped by someone else last night before closing. It's ironic that someone adopted her, they said, because they heard about her on an internet bulletin board.
I am very pleased she is safe (or at least, I hope she is) but terribly disappointed for myself.
Thanks again!
