A dog loves a person the way people love each other only while in the grip of new love: with intense, unwavering focus, attentive to every move the beloved makes, unaware of imperfections, desiring little more than to be close, to be entwined, to touch and touch and touch.
Dear Earl, beautiful angel boy...How well that anonymous quote describes your legacy, loving your humans unconditionally, ever vigilant of their needs, wanting nothing more to love and be loved in return.
I'm so, so very sorry to hear you've left for the Rainbow Bridge, sweetheart, your family no longer having you there with them in body.:( I could hardly hold back the tears, poring over the many beautiful photos your family has shared with us, imaging the countless cherished times you and they shared over the years. But how deserving of your angel wings you are, having brought so much comfort and joy, love and laughter to their lives over the many years. There's nothing much more painful for a human, a family, than the loss of a beloved fur son or daughter, no matter how long their time together may have been; the size of the hole left in their hearts immeasurable. But while your family ends their love filled tribute with a "goodbye," your time apart is only temporary as you and they await that happy day of reunion.
Earl was special because he needed our love and protection in an indifferent world, and my family and I did everything we could to create a space for him to be content. We were so lucky to be able to adopt him and give him a new life. Through his long life I know that he found happiness with us, and I can't find the words to describe how much we'll miss him.
How very blessed your family was, Earl, having known the love and devoted companionship of a boy as beautiful, as gentle and loving, as special as you. More than a pet, more than a beloved best friend, you were and will forever be family. We are forever grateful to them for having chosen adoption, opening up their home and hearts to you in your time of need, providing you protection and safe refuge from a sometimes uncaring world, more importantly, providing you with all the love your heart could hold. Now, healthy and whole once more, bask in the light of the Rainbow Bridge with all of our beloved fur babies, running at full speed, chasing those squirrels, patiently awaiting that joyful day when you and your family are one once more.:love::love::love:
To Earl's family...Thank you for sharing your beautiful boy, your cherished memories with us, giving us the honor of paying tribute to him and all that he means to you. I hope seeing him being honored here today brings you a small measure of comfort.
Beautiful Earl, forever loved.:love::love::love:
