A couple of days ago, it was around 5:30 a.m. and I was asleep. My mom was up, as she always is, and was vacuuming (she leaves for work around 7:00).
I suddenly found myself awake to the sound of mad barking! I thought the dogs must be killing eachother or something! Still half asleep, I ran downstairs. My mom was just standing there and said, "I have no idea what he is doing..."
Apparently while she was vacuuming he just ran up the stairs and basically went CRAZY! I witnessed the last part of this. He was running and barking, tripping himself, going in circles, jumping, running backwards, and I just dont' know what. Reggie was barking at him also. I guess the best way to describe it is some sort of "running and barking seizure".......I don't know. He had a few seizures when he was younger, but it's been many years, and this was not the same thing. My mom said when he was running in circles she tried to pick him up and he tried to bite her.
A few minutes after I came down he just..stopped. He has acted completely normal since. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Smokey is an almost 17 year old poodle. Maybe it is something related to old age?
