You are a handsome guy. I love your big beauitful eyes. You knew what you were doing when you picked your human. I can see why you are top cat. My youngest cat picked me too. My former neighbor had her and when I would go visit this black ball of fluff with a white belly and paws would get out of her first owner's lap to come see me. Doobie would struggle if her first human would try to hold her. LOL. Well her first owner left her behind with a jilted boyfriend and I resuced her from a life on the streets. Two years later Doobie is my fat baby. You are a wonderful addtion to Cat Of The Day. You look similar to the second cat I got Francine. Congratulations on being COTD! I hope you get lots of treats. How about that -- sixteen years ago we were "chosen" in just the same way by a gawky adolescent marmalade tabby who was not AT ALL what we'd gone to the shelter to find.

He's sleeping on the couch right now, an elegant and sleepful older cat, and a cherished pet all these years.

His name is Oscar, too.

Oscar, you used those eight months of recuperation to do your homework, didn't you? Just sitting in a cage looking aloof seldom wins the happy home. It's the cat who projects the flattering idea that you are the only one for him that goes home in a cat carrier that very day and lives the life of Riley evermore. By the way, I had a cat named Riley once who was the spittin image of you. He too was a lovely boy with golden eyes. Oscar the Clever, Oscar the Wise, Oscar the Beeoootiful!
