Hi Bear! Happy Dog of the Day to you, sweetheart!:)
OH BEAR!!! What a gorgeous, life loving, super duper senior BC girl you are; 18 years young and still going strong, enjoying every second of your enchanted, idyllic life to the max! Being a beach, boating and ocean loving girl myself, me thinks it's all that fresh, salty air and those days spent sailing the seas and yes, the occasional pina colada, hehe, that is the secret to your incredibly long life! (Of course your human's love and devotion too!:D)
And what an incredible backstory is yours, Bear! Born on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, the soul survivor of your litter, you started life off in a shelter! But soon those sad and lonely times spent confined behind bars would be but a distant memory! Talk about living your best life, winning the furever "home" lottery! Honestly, your "story" is the stuff of novels, Bear...sailing the seas with your human soulmate, swimming in the harbor, chasing coconuts, hehe Just WOW!!!
Bear is unique in many ways beyond her age - though she came to me from the shelter at four weeks, being an orphan, she had been hand fed since her birth...the only survivor of the litter! Born on St. Croix, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Bear became a sailboat live-aboard, swimming each day in the harbor and playing with coconuts on the beach.
And now, having anchored in FL, you continue to enjoy the beach life, sailing, and happy hour, in addition to those car rides (head out the window, that salty breeze blowing across your face) and chasing squirrels, lol! What a life!
Every minute we humans are lucky enough to share with our furkids, our animal companions is a bonus indeed, and how truly blessed and lucky your human is, having known your love and companionship the past 18 wonderful years and counting! And by all accounts you've still got a ton more living and loving to do, Bear!
At age 15, I started to count each day as Bonus Time but her last check up a week ago received an A+, the vet said, "She's happy and healthy, see ya next year!"
Endless thanks to your human for setting sail with you that fateful day, 18 years ago! How lucky she/he is, having alyal and loving best friend, a furry soulmate, a first mate for life in you, Bear! You truly are one in a million, Bear, my inspiration, and so very deserving of your big day in the spotlight! Make it a great one...taking a walk on the beach, enjoying a swim or a sail; chasing those pesky squirrels and tooling about town in your wheels! And tonight, cuddling with your human on the beach or your deck, sipping a bit of rum and cuddling together as the sun sets quietly into the sea! Lots of love, hugs and kisses to you, beautiful, amazing Bear, our very special and most deserving Dog of the Day, EVERY day...DOG OF A LIFETIME!!!:love::love: Calm winds and safe sailing, beautiful Bear!!!
