Hi Piglet! A very happy Dog of the Day to you, sweetheart!:)

After reading your proud Mom Melissa's heartwarming tribute, your life affirming, uplifting backstory, poring over your over the moon, beyond heart-melting photos (thank you Joan Carruthers!) my eyes are filled with happy tears! Looking at your precious baby pics it's hard to decide if you look more a wee piglet or a baby lamb! And how beautiful is that shot of you with your Mom, as well that one of you posing so proudly with your fur brothers and sisters (rescues all)!

Suffice it to say your amazing Mom, your hero rescuer, is every animal lover's idea of the ideal vet and perfect pet parent; your transformation from that terribly frightened and untrusting boy to the happy, healthy, joyful soul we meet here today testament to the healing power of time and patience, unwavering commitment and unconditional love! And as for you, Piglet? Your indomitable, fighting spirit, your ability to enjoy every minute of life with unbridled joy despite your health challenges is an inspiration to us all, to people and pups all over the world! Yes, you're a super star, Piglet, spreading the power of kindness, empathy and love to people near and far!


After weeks of reassurance, and lots of love, Piglet connected, gained confidence, and his extraordinary spirit emerged. I soon forged a powerful bond with Piglet, allowing us to communicate without sound or visual cues.

Of course it's no surprise to learn that tearful "good bye" day never came to pass, you becoming an official, much loved and cherished family and pack member! As your Mom says, when all is said and done love will find a way!


Two months later, when the day arrived to say good-bye to the now dashing, six-pound pink boy dog with the larger than life spirit, I faced a heart-wrenching decision. Could I hand him over to someone else, someone willing to give Piglet the full-time attention he required? Or could I adapt my schedule and household to make a permanent place for him in my life and work? Of course, the answer was simple: love would find a way.

Endless thanks to your Mom for sharing your uplifting rags to riches backstory with us, giving us the honor of paying tribute to one EXTRA special pup and his wonderful family! Meeting you this morning has made my day, Piglet! And I can't wait to check out your website and follow you on IG! For sure your book will be gifted to many of my dog loving friends and family members come Christmas!

Enjoy your big day in the spotlight, precious Piglet...spending special time with your Mom and Dad, Melissa and Warren, and your skin bros and sisters; playing with your fur siblings; being loved and pampered to pieces by your entire family and all of our adoring friends and fans! Dearest Piglet, you are adorable and precious! What a sweet young man you are, and thank you for sharing all those great photos with us. Your beauty and your indomitable spirit come through stunningly in them all! And how nice to see you as a tiny pup, and you with your dear Mom Melissa, and then you with your six dear rescued-dog siblings. Kudos to Joan Carruthers for the beautiful photography!

What an amazing story your Mom Melissa has to tell about you! She decided to foster "..a tiny deaf blind puppy rescued from a hoarding situation," a decision that changed her life and the lives of her family and then legions of potential admirers. You weighed only two pounds and were one of the most anxious pups she'd ever encountered, even in her career as a vet. You were welcomed into your new family, which included Melissa and her husband Warren and three human siblings and six rescue doggie siblings. After weeks of great care and reassurance and love from them, you connected and gained confidence, and your extraordinary spirit emerged. Then after two months your fostering period ended, and Mom realized she couldn't give you up. Scheduling and household routine changes would be necessary, but she knew love would find a way, and so it did! You and the family formally adopted each other, and you were HOME to stay! You quickly became part of the family, and you've achieved global fame and made many friends on-line. You've even had a book written about you! As Mom says, you're "one special little puppy with a purpose to teach the power of empathy, love, and kindness." You and your family all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
