Good morning, Miss Mabel! Happy Dog of the Day, sweet baby girl, and early Happy 4th Birthday wishes too!:)
You and your Mom/Dad (I'm going to go with Mom, hehe) sure know how to get those water works going!:D Oh my gosh, if your heartwarming backstory isn't enough to get those happy tears flowing, your photos are over the moon heart-melting!!! Are those gifts under the tree in your Christmas photo all yours? lol And how precious you look, all
decked out in your birthday celebration finery, your rainbow! Beautiful! And when I read your Mom sings you "You Are My Sunshine" each night I really lost it. I used to sing that to my Lab, Star, every night before bed, but because her name was Star, I changed it to Starshine! Well, I guess I'm saying learning that told me just how much your Mom adores and cherishes you!
The first night that she was with me I sang her the song, "You Are my Sunshine", and she is! I sing it to her regularly to remind her how special she is to me. Mabel is my sunshine. She brings me daily joyful light on the darkest days, and never ceases to bring a smile to my face.
I'm so, so very sorry to hear of the unspeakable abuse you suffered at the hand of that evil human; the loss of your Mom's beloved heart dog. Blessedly two souls in need of love and healing (emotional and physical) found their way to one another, leaving all of that heartbreak and sadness behind! And for the record, Mabel, that fluffy nub of a tail only adds to your preciousness! The only question left to be answered is just who rescued who! And I just know your much loved doggie predecessor is looking down on you and your Mom from the Rainbow Bridge, so happy knowing her/his Mom is smiling again, the joy returned to her days!
How lucky your Mom is, having been blessed with a Pyr fur daughter as brave and beautiful, as devoted and loving, as special as you, Mabel! Your fighting spirit, your will to live and your ability to learn to love and trust again is an inspiration to us all! And endless thanks to your Mom for choosing rescue, giving one most deserving a girl a 2nd chance at a happy life, and oh is it ever!
Thanks for starting my day off with the biggest smile, Mabel! Meeting you today, reading your uplifting, life affirming rescue tale, your Mom's love filled tribute has been pure joy! I hope you enjoy a very special Dog of the Day celebration...taking a nice, long morning walk; patrolling your backyard, keeping those pesky squirrels at bay, lol; cuddling with your Mom on the couch, receiving countless pets, belly rubs and neck massages; being loved and pampered to pieces, treated to all your heart desires and more!!! Lots of love, big hugs and slobbery smooches to you, beautiful Mabel, our very special and most deserving Dog of the Day, EVERY day!!!:love::love::love:
