Dearest Schpitz, a.k.a. Schpitzy, what a stunner you are, indeed! You are a total knockout, absolutely gorgeous with that long, fluffy orange and white fur that looks so luxurious and soft. You have the sweetest face, with those long, LOOOOONG WHITE whiskers and eyebrows and ear-tufts, and that cute pink nose and those lovely big pale-green eyes. And I love those huge paws! Thank you for sharing those great photos with us. They really do your Norwegian Forest Cat heritage proud! I wish I could reach through the screen and up over to Hamilton, Ontario and pet you! I'd love to sink my fingers into that luxurious fur coat. I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Meowmie and Dad will pet you for me :).
And what a story you have to tell! Your dear Purrrents-to-be look after many stray cats that come around their house. And my great thanks and blessings to them for doing this, and to the cats they look after! One day last summer they noticed a big fluffy orange and white cat playing on their road. Dad was able to pet him (you!) briefly, and he named you Schpitz. Then you rolled around and darted away. They felt like they'd been visited by a special angel! You reminded Dad of his son Leo, whom he hadn't seen in a while. Then they didn't see you for several months, but they talked about you and wished you'd return. And then last December 23 you came back to the yard! Dad ran out and scooped you up and brought you inside, caressing and talking to you. You ate and then rushed outside again. They didn't see you the next day, but on Christmas day you and Dad's son and his mom all came to visit!
You stayed for two weeks, and you got acquainted with dear Sandy, the family cat. Then your Purrrents took you for a vet check, found you were about 18 months old, healthy and microchipped. The vet contacted the chip company, who notified the owner. Then the owner called your new Purrrsons, said you'd been missing for six months and they lived 100 miles away! He told them they could keep you, and he e-mailed your health records and breed info. Your name there was Trix, and you were a stunning Norwegian Forest Cat with all immunizations up-to-date and neutered as well. You're a Purrrfect Wegie example, and the name Schpitz means "perfect example of" in Yiddish!
You love your dear Purrrents, especially Dad, with whom you share a special bond. He takes care of your thick coat, which gets matted easily. You follow him around and even take him for walks, showing him the places you hid when you were lost and alone. Recently you became an indoor-only cat, after suffering a bite wound which became infected. It's two months later, and you no longer try to escape. You're safely home now and truly a miracle cat! You all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Schpitzy, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Sandy and Meowmie and Dad and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.
