What a beautiful, snow white Wedding (not Rock) Dove (not pigeon, hehe) you are, Cupid! And being a Wedding Dove with a heart of gold so perfectly named! You do your namesake proud, Cupid!

I was so moved, reading your heartwarming, uplifting, life affirming backstory, Cupid! What a strong and determined boy you are, Cupid. Not even your mobility challenges can keep you from enjoying every minute of your wonderful life (heated coop floor!!!), time with your mommy and bestie Phoenix the Silkie to the max!:cool:


I'm a special bird in lots of ways, but I'm extra special! I have a neurological disorder that makes it hard for me to walk, and I can't fly at all. Some people would call me disabled but I'm really not.

To say you are special, EXTRA special, doesn't begin to do justice to your indomitable spirit, sweetheart! Your ability to see past your challenges and embrace life to its fullest is truly an inspiration to us all! How very lucky your mommy is, having a beautiful, personality packed, sweet and loving feathered family member in you, Cupid! Just as you say, you truly are one EXTRA special boy, one in a million, simply the BEST!!! And hopefully after reading your backstory hopefully others might consider welcoming an animal companion as special as you into their lives!


I wanted to be Pet of the Day so I could tell lots of people that disabled pets have just as much love to give as any other. And personally - I think we're the best, because there's no other pigeon like me!

Thanks for starting my day off with the biggest smile, Cupid! Meeting you today, reading your heartwarming backstory and being treated to your heart-melting photos, giving us the chance to honor one EXTRA special boy has been pure joy! I hope you enjoy a very special, adventure filled (rainy?:D) day of celebration...spending fun time in your garden with Phoenix, pecking on some yummy treats, being loved and pampered to pieces by your proud mommy! Dearest Cupid, what a stunningly beautiful Wedding Dove you are! You're absolutely breathtaking with those pure white feathers, so sleek sometimes and then all puffed out, and that sweet face with that hooked beak and lovely big dark eyes. Thank you for sharing all those terrific photos with us. They show your beauty so well, and it's so nice to see you with your dear BFF Phoenix!

What an inspiring, delightful story you have to tell! You have a neurological disorder that means it's hard for you to walk and you can't fly. But that doesn't stop you at all! You and your BFF Phoenix the Silkie Chicken have fun together in the garden. Your pet-mommy lets you play in the rain, and you love the rain! You have your own coop with its very special heated floor. You sit on your tail because you can't really stand up. You and your dear people all love each other very much, don't you. You are so right, Cupid, and my kitty Sparkler agrees with you totally! She also has dysfunctional hind legs which make it very hard for her to walk (and she also can't fly). But that doesn't stop her, either! She gets around in her own very distinctive ways. You and she are both terrific examples of disabled pets and all the love they give.
