Dearest Archie, a.k.a. Sir Archibald Cat, aren't you ever just the most adorable little thing imaginable! You are so cute there, lying on your back on the bright red afghan in that nice bed and holding up those back feet complete with darling jellybean toes! Your soft-looking fur is so pretty, in an unusual design with that black tabby top over white bottom, complete with the black spot on your nose and the smudge under your chin on your sweet face. And those slightly-crossed eyes gazing out at me are precious! I wish I could reach through the screen and down to Charlotte, NC to pet you! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Purrrson will pet you for me ;).
And what an amazing story you have to tell! Your dear Purrrson-to-be is a feeder of a colony of feral cats. She had recently lost her precious Reggie, Sir Reginald Cat, after having him for only six years, as a stray who had lived for about five years alone in her yard. She went to pieces and said "NO MORE, my heart is broken." Then one night, two new kittens showed up in the colony. One was almost identical to Reggie, and she wondered if he was Reggie reincarnated, or at least related to him! She brought you home, intending at first to foster you but then realizing she needed you. She's sure that Reggie sent you to her because he knew how lonely she was. You've brought her so much happiness and love, and you've done a terrific job helping her heart to heal. She is so grateful you came along, because she needed you so! She can't imagine life without you. Now it's ten years later, and you two have been enjoying life together all this time. You love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!
Congratulations, darling Archie, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Purrrson and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.

P.S. Your Purrrson's group is Friends of Feral Felines (http://www.friendsofferalfelines.org). We thank them for all the fine work they are doing helping so many kitties!
