I can't tell you how moved I was by your heartwarming, life affirming backstory, Katie, reading your Mom's love filled tribute. What a horrible day that was, Sept. 11, 2001, a day of incalculable loss and grief. But amidst all of that loss and sadness, out of the rubble, was unearthed a day to celebrate...Your rescue!

We are so thankful to your family for their kindness and compassion, rescuing you from a life of neglect; going the extra mile, taking that long drive to find you; welcoming you into their lives with open arms! And you, Katie, knew the moment you laid eyes on your furever humans to be that they were "he ones," enthusiastically greeting and accepting them with a sigh of relief, unbridled joy and open paws!

As for your nickname, "Big Nose Kate!" I never knew Doc Holliday had a girlfriend with that name! Well, you do your namesake proud, sweetheart!:D;)

How lucky your family is, the humans and furry ones, having a Calico furkid and play buddy as beautiful, as sweet and loving, as special as you; their source of immeasurable joy, love and laughter! In looks and in purrsonality, inside and out, you couldn't be any more purrfect if you tried, sweetheart! You're a joy, a treasure, and so very deserving of your big day of honor!

Thanks for the BIG smiles, Katie! Meeting you today, reading your heartwarming rags to riches story has been such a treat! I hope you're treated to a very special Cat of the Day celebration...playing with your furry sibs, fetch with the pups, perhaps, hehe; enjoying a nice, long brushing; receiving countless cuddles and belly rubs; being loved and pampered to pieces, treated to all your heart desires and more! Dearest Katie, a.k.a. "Big Nose Kate," what a beautiful lady you are! You are absolutely stunning, with that colorful Calico fur that looks so soft, and that sweet face with those long, LOOOONG white whiskers and lovely big green eyes and those face markings that make your nose look so huge. You certainly do your namesake Doc Holiday's girlfriend "Big Nose Kate" proud! I wish I could reach through the screen and over to the Pacific Northwest to pet you! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Purrrsons will pet you for me ;).

And what a story you have to tell! Your dear Purrrsons drove two hours to find you one week after the 9/11 attacks. September 11, 2001 was a horrifying day for us all, but you brought some joy and hope back to your Purrrsons by your arrival into their family. Your previous owners hadn't been taking very good care of you, and when your Purrrsons-to-be arrived, you knew right away they were the Purrrfect Ones and jumped into their arms when they opened your cage! You have the most delightful Purrrsonality, thinking you're a dog and preferring to play with other dogs over cats. You love to be brushed and to lay on your back while someone scratches your belly. You even play fetch! You bring great joy to your family. You and they all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!

Congratulations, darling Katie, on being chosen Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Purrrsons and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.
