Dearest Moon, a.k.a. Moonie, Moon-Dean, Mooesha, Rubbina and Mowli, what a stunning, gorgeous gentleman you are! Your Tabby fur has many different beautiful colors in it, and what a nice white shirt-front and nice white boots you have! You're a big boy, all right.. all the more to love! And what a sweet face you have, with that cute red-brick nose, the small white mustache, and those lovely big green eyes. Thank you for sharing those great photos with us. I wish I could reach through the screen and over to Northeast PA to pet you, and pet your dear "little brother" Bean, too! I can't, of course, but I know your loving and beloved Purrrsons will pet you both for me ;).

And what a story you have to tell, of utterly horrific beginnings and then rescue and then finding your Purrrfect Home with your Purrrfect Purrrsons. You were first rescued from the streets by the humane society, but how horrible that they then just palmed you off to a tech school to be used as a lab animal. And then you were returned to the humane society after the students could no longer use you. No wonder you weren't in the greatest of condition when your dear Purrrson-to-be met you there three months later. You were lethargic, you just laid in your cage, and when you did stand up and were petted, you flopped onto your side. But you touched his/her heart, and so you adopted each other and went HOME! My deepest gratitude that you were rescued and then found your Purrrfect Purrrson and family and home! And since then, you have been her/his angel. This was a difficult time in her life, and you absolutely pulled her through it. Both of you needed to be rescued, and you rescued each other!

Now you are living the life you deserve (and you always deserved)! You turned your Purrrson into a cat person as well as the dog person she had always been. You're very affectionate! You love to rub, lay on legs, have your back patted, and of course, you still love to flop. Recently Bean joined the family, and you accepted him right away, loving him like your little brother. You and he and your Purrrsons all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!

Congratulations, darling Moon, on being chosen today's Cat of the Day! We hope you and your dear Bean and Purrrsons and all your family and friends are enjoying a fine celebration, full of fun and lovies and all your favorite games and treats.

What a beautiful, bodacious, gentle giant of a silver Tabby boy you are, Moon! And so perfectly named, for you truly are an earthly, furry angel; heaven sent!

I was so moved, reading your Mom's love filled tribute; almost in tears, reading of your horrific start at life! Speaking as an animal/cat lover, a rescue volunteer and a nurse, I can't for the life of me understand the Humane Society's thinking!:( What an unspeakably heartless start at life for a defenseless, sentient being!:mad:

Thank God, as unconscionably cruel an experience as that was, that was the extent of their "practicing," with you finally being sprung from that lab, finding your way to that devoted furever human/family you always deserved, loved unconditionally! Despite the warning of others, your Mom knew in her gut and her heart from day one that there was nothing truly "wrong" with you, seeing beyond your wounded body and spirit for the sparkling diamond in the rough that you were; a truly gentle soul with a heart of gold; welcoming all comers with open paws! And just look at you now, Moon, the very picture of a happy, healthy, confident and trusting boy! Your transformation is testament to your indomitable, fighting spirit, and the healing power of unconditional love and devotion! You truly are a fighter and survivor, Moon, and your resilience an inspiration to us all!


Our vet told us Moon would never need another cat or dog in his life but a year ago, we asked him to let another adult cat come live with us. He was amazing! He accepted Bean into his home and loves him like his little brother. He has even let Bean take over some of his cushions and all of his other favorite spots. We love him sooo much and can't imagine life without him. We are so blessed to have found him that day at the humane society and pray he has many more years ahead of him.

How truly blessed your Mom is, Moon, having been blessed with a loyal and loving best friend, a heart healer, a full fledged furry family member/son in you! They just don't come any more special that you Moon! You're the best, a gem, and so very deserving of your big day of honor!

Meeting you today, seeing your over the moon heart-melting photos and learning of the very special bond of love you and your Mom, your family share, has made my morning! I hope you enjoy a very special day of celebration...napping on your comfy couch; spending fun fur time with your bestie, Mr. Bean; receiving tons of pats, cuddles and rubbies; being loved and pampered to pieces; treated to all your heart desires and more!
