Woohoo, I am sooooo happy!!!
We've adopted a new cat!
Kiki is 1,5 years old!
Karen added her picture on post nr. 6 !!
She is such a beautyful cat!!
The shelter where she was, told us that she was held in a small room, together with a male cat
Both were not steralised, so one day she got kittens...:mad:.; the human killed the poor kittens, said that she didn't want Kiki anylonger, because she was a very bad cat...!
She is an elderly, age 82.
She never took care of the cats; she brought food and water, but that's it...! She never spent any time with her cats...:mad: So they were not socialised at all....
From now on, she is't allowed to keep anymore pets ! GOOD !!!
They even didn't have a name...:mad:

Kiki is now hiding, but I am sure she will turn into a very sweet lady:love:
She is so beautiful, I already love her so so much!`

Snoopy isn't very happy now. Kiki walken towards Snoopy, and the Snoopy started gissing and growling!
Sorry sweet Snoopy, from now one we have 2 Gabriels Girls again!!:love::love:

We found a new name for her!
From now one, she is ZIGGY !!!

Ps. we changed it because it sounds exactly like the Dutch word for "chicken"; well, especially in our local dialect chicken
is called "kieken or kiki" :p;)

Ziggy spent her first night in our veranda, where she had a cat-bed, a scratch tower, a "toilet", some toys, ....; She slept in the basket!
She still is such a scaredy cat.... poor Ziggy... . This morning she is squealing a lot... ! She doesn't feel at home yet, and is scared of anything that moves, and everything else..... . I think we will have to be very patient with her, and give her all the time she needs now.
Snoopy is nòt happy with her new sister! She is in the patio (cat-proef!), and doesn't want to come inside... .I think she is mad at us now...! But we all know the magic of cat-food hey;):)

She is almost constantly playing with her mice, tent, tunnel, :)
She also tries to be accepted by Snoopy, but Snoopy isn't happy with this; all Snoopy wants is napping napping napping (have I already told she loves napping?), and some yummy food and water and of course plenty of catbeds to choose from. But playing with "that nervous little brat", no no not our Snoopy...;)

Ziggy comes really close to us now, sometimes she takes some food from between our fingers; mostly though she touches our hand with a foot, which means ":ok, drop the food on the ground please!"
BUT pet her, or touching her is absolutely not done..... :(
I really hope so much that in the future she will allow us to pet her, give her kisses, and that she will jump on our lap, one fine day......:love:

Have you tried using a comb or brush on Ziggy? I see she is short haired, as is my cat Bella. Bella loves it when I scratch with a comb on her neck and chin. What would Ziggy think of that?

How can we brush if she runs away as soon as we come closely?? I wish it was that easy, but it will take a long long time before she will us allow to do that!!
We should take her to a DA because her left eye is wet all the time; but it just isn't possible yet, we may not even touch her head, so picking her up and put her in a cat-carrier is so so impossible....:(

I am thinking of Snoopy and Ziggy today :love: and hope they're doing well!

Our newbie Ziggy is the sweetest cat ever...! She loves it here very much, always come to stay wherever we are, is very talkative, almost never stops playing with a mouse, and.....is always ready for food :p:)!
She really tries to "talk" to us: when we talk to her, she always responds with a high "eeee eeee"! No no, it is not meowing nor "etalking" to the birds in the garden, it is real talking! Few minutes ago, I took my laptop and said to her in the catbed on the floor where I am, and there she did it again: "eee eeee" ! She also gives us that "eeee eeee" whenever she wants us to play with her rod with ribbons!!
Another funny think about her: she is always very interested in what we eat! She looks at both of us, she taps the edge of the table with one paw, which means "okay you can give me a bit of that yummy food". But as she is so scared to be touched, she does NOT take that piece from between our fingers, but again she taps very soft on our hand , meaning "okay you can drop it to the floor now! Silly Ziggy :love:
We love her to the moon and back...:love::love:

But.... she still doesn't want us to pet her....! There is progress now! She has seen how Snoopy always goes resting on a cushion on the sofa where Bernard lays while watching tv
And yesterday.... she jumped on the couch too, and got on Snoopy's cushion, while watching him Bernard very good to be sure he didn't try to touch here....! Good hey!!!
But.. guess who was absolutely NOT happy with this: Snoops!!!;)
We hope that one day she will let her pick up because we should take her to the vet to change the message on her chip, and to get her shots!! She has one eye who is often very wet, so we would like to have the vet a look at that...
