Now that everything has settled after the move, I can start digging in the dirt again.
Container gardening is still my favorite way to grow stuff.

And I found a wren's nest in one of my plants. Momma bird got a little annoyed, but she came right back.

Aww, excellent! Most people since my move here to Vermont know me as Wren, which was my nickname when I was a little, chatty round child!

That's a great nickname. Wrens are my favorite birds in the garden.

The first harvest of the season. I have lots of tomatoes as well, but they have yet to turn red.

Today, I found a praying mantis on one of my plants. I'm always happy to see them as they prey on garden pests.

This morning I found the water hyacinths in bloom for the first time.

And the tomatoes are finally coming in. I took a few to the neighbor.

Ooooh, yummy!

No worms. The curled one got caught on a vine while growing, so it had to grow like this.
This year is a terrific gardening year. I've been taking bag after bag of tomatoes to work, because I can't eat them all.
Honestly, I'm getting sort of tired of eating tomatoes!

It's finally cooling off. Until 2 days ago, we had temperatures in the 90's and no rain for almost 2 months.
Still no rain, but at least the heat has subsided.
Time for fall flowers:
