Killian update 12/31/02

Killian went to the vets yesterday because he had some crusty growths on his ears that were slowly spreading. She ruled out sarcopic mange and "cradle cap" that puppies get. The vet said that it may be that his immune system is starting to act up because of his liver. Oh no, just what I need now. He is still eating and I've started giving him Salmon mixed with his home-cooked now (Omega 3 helped when we first got him and his fur and skin was a mess). The people at the vets and the techs just ohh and ahhh'd over how good he looks. Can't believe that he has liver disease. Hope this salmon and topical corticorsteroids help nip this in the bud!

Sue, it is good to hear Killian is doing really well except for his ear problem. I pray you can figure out how to clear the bumpies on his ear too! This guy is so lucky to have you for his momma! :D

Great news, Sue!!:) How our handsome Killian must WOW! the ladies at the vets!!!! Star's jealous!:D Salmon, our favorite!! Star was heading out the door when she heard what's on the menu. But I told her you all have enough to deal with right now!! Hope Killi's ear responds well to the salmon and medic. Of course Star thinks a few "in person" kisses would do the trick! Love to you Killian from all of us here!!

Sue, I was so glad to hear Killian is doing well, I hope the new medicine nips this thing in the bud. I'll bet he is one dog who likes to go to the Vet with all the girls after him. LOL

With all the vet trips that he has made, it is like his second home!! He goes with the girls readily. They all like him. :)

I see a little improvement in the ear tips. That's good. When I put the medicine on though, his fur on the tips, comes off. It's not all bare, though.

Thank you!! The thing about it is that Killi takes everything in stride. You should see our twice daily routine of passing out meds and cleaning his lip-folds and nose. No matter what you do to him, he answers with a big slurp. He truly is an exceptional dog. He makes everything I have to do for him worthwhile. When I first got him I called him my Angel dog. He still is. :D

I personally love cheese with my whine. If only I could be a pindot as stolic and sweet and patient as darling Killi, angel dog of the century. He sure couild teach me a thing or two!! Hmmm, but then again, my mom refuses to make me salmon, I just called her!!! Star*Shine and I will be over at 6pm!!! Remember, I'm always adoptable, cheap. I love you all to pieces and of course pray that Killi continues eating and getting well. {hugs}

Sue, Killi is a very special pup, he has been through so much but he has the heart of a lion and the sweetness of a spring morning. He is one in a million and I am sending him lots of love, kisses and hugs.

Oh, thank you so much. Killian really is one of a kind. He is my Angel dog from the very beginning and even with all he has gone through, he is even more of an angel. I shudder to think that in 1996 he would have been pts!! A wonderful doggy soul would have left this world without having touched all those he has since he was rescued. I am so lucky to have him. I am blessed!

Sue some things are meant to be and I believe it was fate that brought you and Killi together. Maybe to learn something from each other and to know the meaning of true love between a human and an animal.
I believe that Daisy and Perry survived for that reason and there is no greater love then we have for each other.
