Hi Austin, beautiful boy! Happy Dog of the Day!:)

I got all teary eyed, reading your devoted mom/dad's love filled tribute, reading of your heartwrenching, heartwarming rags to riches story. I'm so, so very sorry to hear of the abuse you, just a puppy, suffered at the hand of your former "human.".:( Thankfully, Shar Pei Rescue saved you from a life of loneliness and neglect, and oh, what a happy new beginning it was, the day your forever family found their way to you! It's understandable, that even after so many years of love and support some emotional scars remain. But thankfully, just as it should be (especially with a rescue), your family's love is unconditional, and we are forever grateful to them for never giving up on you, accepting you just as you are, perfect in your own special way!



We continue to deal with his skittishness on a daily basis and I accept whatever kind of affection he gives me. He's come along way, but still doesn't feel 100% safe and secure, even with me. But I love him, and seeing him happy is worth everything.

Just as your mom/dad says, the rewards of rescue are priceless and you, Austin, are living proof of that!

Dearest Austin, what a beautiful Shar Pei you are! You are absolutely adorable with that brown fur and wrinkly skin and that sweet face full of the look of so much love. You certainly do know how to pose for the camera, so nobly and then with that delightful big smile! We are so glad you were rescued from that hoarder and now live with people who know just how to care for you properly and so tenderly and lovingly! You are still a bit skittish, but you are getting more relaxed and affectionate each day. You and your dear family members all love each other very much, don't you. What a wonderful love-filled home you share!

Austin is a most excellent DOTD! What a dreadful beginning Austin endured whilst an innocent puppy, so sad. It is a miracle that he was rescued and now loved unconditionally by his loving peeps, HURRRRAY! We are so happy for Austin, all the progress he has made. What a sweet and adorable face, wishing long life, health and happiness to dear Austin and his entire o family!
