Some of you might remember that Monroe not only has physical health conditions, but also a mental one called pica (ingestion of non-food items).
Whenever people hear about it, they think it's so funny. I can assure everybody there's nothing funny about it. Not only is it dangerous for him, but it also causes a lot of damage around the house.
In Monroe's case, it means so far 9 years and hundreds of dollars worth of destruction. The following pics show a tiny fraction of what has been damaged:

And bed sheets seem to be very tasty:

Other than living in a concrete block, there's only damage control, no avoiding it completely.:( Luckily, Monroe is a very thorough chewer, otherwise, I'm sure, he would have had several surgeries.

Wow, that is quite amazing the amount of materials he has eaten. Most cats would get severe stomach problems.

How is Monroe doing with the new medicine?

Sending lots of kisses.

Thank you, Randi. I think Monroe has the iron stomach for sure.;)
His cough has mostly subsided, and I just learned that the medicine gets barely manufactured anymore, and it is really hard to find. So I decided for now that I'm not looking for an alternative, and I will watch for the return of the cough (which hopefully won't happen).

Not funny at all!

I'm glad the cough has mostly subsided, and I hope things stay that way.
