What a pretty girl you are, Luna - and you are the first Elo dog we have ever featured on Dog of the Day, so I am glad we get to learn about you, and introduce your breed to people outside of Germany! How nice your people, who thought they wanted a different puppy, took pity on you after that first family refused you! I bet they have no idea what a treasure they passed up! Some extra formula, food and love, and you grew to be the gorgeous, strong dog you were always meant to be! Your gold and white coat, and your big smile make it hard to believe you are 12 years old - I would have believe it if she said you were 2! But we know you have been spending all those years teaching your girl how to be a proper dog person, haven't you? You look at home in every season! Congratulations, lovely Luna, you are Dog of the Day!

What a beautiful girl you are, Luna, beautiful in body and heart, and clearly one happy, happy pup! Just look at that smile!:D Your human says at 12 years young you're slowing down just a tad, though I must say you don't look one day over 6!

What a treat, having a representative of the rare Elo breed as our featured honoree! I have to do some research, check out the link your family provided, to learn more about your breed's history! We're so grateful to your family for taking a chance on you after your first (perspective) family turned you down! Well, their loss s your family's great gain. All it took was a bit of *special care,* some good food and lots of love, for your true beauty to shine through! Your humans knew a diamond in the rough when they saw one, didn't they sweetheart?:) And I had to laugh when I read that your fave "thing" to retrieve are stones! Well, to each his/her own, though I can't help but wonder if you don't have a bit of Lab in your lineage! (My Lab loved to retrieve stones!:rolleyes::D) You're one extra special pup, Luna, special in so many ways, and your family one lucky bunch, having you in their lives, bringing so much happiness to their days!
