Hello there.
My mom is moving into assisted living early next year and we are selling a lot of her cat figurines.
There are two by Sculptures by Heron's and one silver-grey one that has NO markings at all and is heavy for its size.
The Heron's search has come up with nothing.
Thanks for any help you can provide! I really appreciate it!

These are beautiful! I love cat figurines. I don't know any of the details, though.

Gary, you never know what you have! If you have a good look on the bottom of the statues (I often need a magnifying glass) you may be surprised!;)

Did you see my comments on Facebook?
The well known sculptors usually have some sort of "signature" on their pieces.
I have looked and cannot find that logo for Heron's. I even found a list of stores of GB and and nothing.

Is that third one metal or ceramic?

Karen, it must be some kind of metal, even pewter, because it is heavy and dense for its size (about 5 1/2 inches long).
As for the Heron's company, I think they were taken over by Royal Doulton. There is a Heron Pottery right near the location of Heron's, and I have emailed them. No reply so far.
I will look at the Heron's again - they are at my mom's place. I'll see if there is a signature.

Candace, I gave you a link to heron's on Facebook, did you see that? I suggest you contact them directly for more info.

Hi Sandie, yes, I posted several images on their FB page. Thanks!
I'll head over there in a bit and see if anyone responded.

The metal one - do magnets stick to it? Does your mother remember when or where she got it? Are there any marks on it at all?

First of all, a friend checked with an antique appraiser and he said the Heron's ones were by Patrick Heron. However, all I can find is paintings, paintings and more paintings. One of his daughters is a sculptor but does large installations.
And Karen, a magnet does not stick to the heavy cat at all.
ETA: found one, although the Heron's label is not on it! http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Cat-Kitten-Figurine-Statue-with-a-Jug-Pitcher-of-Milk-Made-in-Britain-4-Tall-/181538944151?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a44907497 (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Cat-Kitten-Figurine-Statue-with-a-Jug-Pitcher-of-Milk-Made-in-Britain-4-Tall-/181538944151?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a44907497)

Does the gold-ish color of its feet look painted on, or is the grey painted on, and that the actual color? Maybe it is brass!

I never thought of brass! I am searching images on Google now for "painted brass cat figurines" and the type of etching done on a few of them has convinced me that this is brass.
Thank you! I'll keep looking.

Is the heavy cat the one with the milk jug?
The sculptors with name Heron that I found also did large sculptures, not miniatures.

The heavy one is the shiny one. And you're right about the Heron sculptors.
I sent the Heron's one to an online appraisal service (I've used one like it before). I'll see what I can find out.
