One year ago today, little Wolfy picked ME to be his furever Mom. After me losing Myndi and Sparky, I said "no more", but then those 2 RB Fuzzbuttz pointed me in Wolfy's direction. Well - how could I say "no" to them??? I went to the shelter to meet Wolfy, and it was love at first sight. He had been there for 2 weeks, just waiting for me to come for him and take him to his new home. It was like we had been together forever - no transition period at all - and when he walked into the house for the first time, he acted as tho he had been there forever. He loves everybody and everything - not even a tiny mean bone in his little body. :)
Every day I am so thankful for him. This past year has been pretty rough at times, and he has been there for me thru good and bad. I don't know what I would have done without him - he is such a loyal and devoted and loving little boy. So I didn't really rescue him - he rescued me.
Happy 1st Gotcha Day, sweet Wolfy. Here's to many, many more years together. Just remember - I always say that we are the "Mommy and Wolfy Team" - together till the end.:love:

Yup - a year already. Seems like he has always been here tho.....
His coloring is called brindle. You see it more in short hair dogs. It's equivalent to tortoiseshell in cats. I had never seen a brindle Pom before Wolfy, and it's rather unique. People that see him when we are out and about, always comment on it.

HAPPY GOTCHA DAY, WOLFY!!!
Thank you, Sandie. What a nice thing to say. That really made my day - and I appreciate it.
Happy Gotcha Day cute Wolfy.
Thanks Nancy. I think he's pretty darn cute too.

Thanks Karen. I was really surprised he was still at the shelter after 2 weeks - but lucky me that he was. I think that it's due to the fact that more folks in this area are looking for dogs to go hunting with - such as the hounds and retrievers. The only thing that the Wolfman likes to retrieve, is food!!!
Happy Gotcha Day Wolfy:love::love: It sure sounds like a match made in heaven. Many, many more happy years together.:)
Thanks Liz. He definitely was meant to be with me. His previous owner was an older lady who broke her shoulder and could no longer care for him. It would be a cold day in hell before I would surrender him for any reason.
Happy Gotcha Day Wolfie!! Hope loads of treats were bestowed upon you today.
Thanks Gayle. I did a little extra on the apple and carrot pieces today, since he needs to shed at least one pound, and ideally two of them. I've cut back his portions and he's on a weight management diet, but the pounds just stay with him. He was at Dr Annie's on Friday for his annual checkup and booster shots, and she said she can live with his weight as it is, but doesn't want to see it go any higher. He weighed 10.5 lbs when he adopted me, and over the long and cold winter went up to 12.5 lbs. He's been dieting since March and will lose a half pound or so, but then it goes back on again. :(
Happy Gotcha Day Wolfy. Beautiful coloring. Many happy returns.
Thanks Anne. Yes - everyone agrees that his color is very unique.
Happy gotcha day, fluffball!
Thanks to all of Angel's people. Yup - big fluffball, and surprisingly all that fluff doesn't mat or tangle, and when I groom him, the excess combs right out with no hassle.
Happy Gotcha Day Mr. Wolfy  There is nothing like a great furry friend to make life worth living. :)
Thanks Bonny. Yup - he's my best friend and takes in everything I say, and is never judgmental. It would be so nice if people could/would do that! ;)

Thanks Elyse, Vette, and Chris. I really appreciate your nice comments on Mr Wolfy - the love of my life.
And he has a birthday coming up in October - he'll be 5. Got to try to think of something special for him, since it really should not be food related. Mr Foodie does not need any more weight, even tho he is the most food motivated dog I have ever been a mom too.

We live in a rural area, so he doesn't get to see many dogs. He would love a play date with his cousin Scooter the Pug, but he's in NC - over 500 miles from here. Unfortunately, Scooter's mom and I don't see eye to eye, so we'll probably never get to see Scooter again. I had considered dognapping him before we left there for the last time, but I didn't want nasty mom coming after me!:D

maybe just a short drive than? LOL if he likes rides that is of course. Kirby missed being able to go with to go on rides in the car so sometimes we'd just drive around for a couple of minutes an come back home. he loved it ^^

Yeah - maybe I'll take him out to the beach if the weather is nice, and now that the summer crowds are gone. He needs a new harness, and loves his nylabones too, so those are ideas.
He loves riding in the car. Between last Oct and this April, we made 3 round trips to NC and back - over 1000 miles round trip each time. His carrier is bigger than he needs (like for a medium size dog), and he rode in that in the front passenger seat. In one trip back to here last January, it was so bitter cold out, that I never even took him out of the car to go potty - and he went the whole 9+ hours in there without a complaint. He's a wonderful traveler! :D
