I always do. I take music that has no lyrics or change the lyrics to make it have to do with the cats. Sometimes I just sing their names over and over again. My boyfriend was over on the weekend, and I forgot he was sitting in the room and I started singing along with the Simpson's theme song, but made it all about Tilly. I had sung about three words when I suddently remembered, "Hmm.. I'm not alone..." While Tilly just smiled at me, Nathan looked at me and kinda shook his head, like "You are such a weirdo!" It was pretty funny!!! :D :o :D

I sing to Miss Hoppy, just quiet little just-for-her tunes I make up as I go. I don't think she cares what noises I make, as I usually do it when I'm patting her already! Bunnies are sooo quiet - when they want to be! - that they need quiet tunes! ;)

Hmm, around here we sing: "Beautiful Puss-Cat", "You are my sunshine, my fuzzy sunshine", "Fur-cats in the night" .... My fur-kids are the only ones that can stand the sound of my singing, though! :o ;) :p :o

I usually make up songs depending on what they are doing at the time too. And the lyrics are usually converted to 'baby talk'. Lately with the holidays, I've been making up words to the tunes of Christmas carols. Earlier today I was singing 'Lolly Bells".

So yeah, I'm really bad, not only do I sing, but I sing in baby talk :o

alex gets "you are my sunshine", and duke gets his own version of the "duke of earl", magic hears the chorus of "magic man"(from heart in the mid 70's) and mojo gets a lilting calling of her name. luckily no human has heard this yet:D

OMG! Guilty as charged, and relieved to know that other people act like babbling idiots around their pets! Yes, I change the lyrics to reflect whatever "kitty mood" I'm in. I picked up this habit from my mom, who was always singing and talking to the kitties in the house. It seems like "You Are My Sunshine" is pretty popular, although around my house it's "You Are My Herman, my lovely Herman......":D ;) :p

you are my sunshine is a hit here too. (wonder why so many of us use the same song?) plus, because his name is owen, we sing owie-oh (from the wizard of oz... what the bad guards for the witch sang).

Boo loves my singing! He'll come running in from outside if he's not around. I think he's so confused by it or just fascinated, that he has to see what's creating that noise.

Since Boo makes an easy replacement for "you", my options are limitless. I've converted nearly every song I know to be Boo-able. He seems to love it, and will hang around outside of the shower just to hear me serenade him.

Love that little guy!!!:) :)

Soledad, my mom's kitty used to come from whatever part of the house he was hiding in, when she would sing to him. Theirs was a love story for the ages; I've never seen such devotion in a kitty before. Also - have you ever posted pix of Boo? I'd like to see the little music lover.....

I LOVEEEEEEEE singing to my kitties!!!!:D

I made LUCKY his own song too.

This is how it goes:(you're supposed to sing "Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun ,dun..." where the....'s are.

"His name is Lucky Boy...
Only without the Boy
His name is Luckyyyyy,
Now he's not a Ducky.

He is a Cat......
Actually a kitten,
Little tiny furballlll sittin on my lap.....

He wakes up.....
Before the bright sun does,
Running all around, jumping up and down,
Always keeps me up
Pick up a shoe, throw it across the room,
wouldn't you know it missed him!

Maybe it's because he's Lucky Boy.....
Only without the boy,
His name is Luckyyyyy,
No he's not a Ducky.

He is a CAT.....
Actually a kitten,
Little tiny furballllll
Sitting on my lap.....
Sitttttin onnnn myyyy LAP!

I made this song for the best kitten in the world, my sweet LUCKY. I bottle fed him from a week old. He was brought it to the vet by the Sherrif of Pico Rivera. He had a severe upper respiratory virus, was dehydrated and very thin. You couldn't see his eyes because they were covered with dry puss.

Dr. Gorya said he wouldn't make it but I didn't give up. We gave him fluids and antibiotics and slowly he got better and turned into the most lovable beautiful cat ever. He was actually reincarnated but that's another story..if you want to hear I will tell you. I miss you LUCKY and Mommy thinks of you everyday and every second of her life, wishing you were here with me. You were the best cat ever and I know we will meet again. I love you. :(

All the time!! Poor things! :)

Now that we have Christmas music playing almost 24/7, I am singing (and dancing with them) to them even more! :D

I ususally make up dumb songs too. Lately, its been to the tune of B-I-N-G-O...hee hee

I always sing to them softly in the car....usually on the way to the vet. Maybe THAT'S why they hate the vet!! ;)

Roger and Milly are the only ones who will tolerate my "singing", and that is mostly whistling, trying to teach him a new song!!! If I sang to the others, they would probably run away!! :o

Yes, and I'm sure they wish I would stop! I've even been known to dance a bit with them.:D

You are my sunshine is a hit in our house too! I sing it to my son, and the dogs changing the words to match whoever I am singing too. My son thinks I shouldn't sing it to the dogs though since it is "HIS SONG". I have gotten music boxes with the song and even a singing sunflower for my son. I just want him to know how much he means to me!

I sing other silly songs too and even get the dogs to dance with me but the favorite is "you are my sunshine!".

ROTFL!!

Me too!! I sing 'daft' songs with made-up words to all three cats - they know I'm barmy, so hey - what's the fuss!! No 'human' has ever heard these 'songs' - and never will! According to all friends and family - I can't carry a tune in a bucket!

The latest 'song' was yesterday - when I was persuading Ketchum to be a big brave boy and come from under the bed for
his vet visit (they all needed their booster jabs., the visit went well as usual, with the three of them making up to the vet!!) and was along the lines of -
'My lovely Ketchy boy - come out and see your mummeeeee - I've got your porta prison ready and treats for after your jab!!!!'

HEHE! That's been my latest tune too! I actually tried to teach a dog to bark at the parts where you clap the letters... but that didn't quite work :)

Yep! But I don't sing kids songs or lulabyes...I love to sing along with the radio or music videos. Even though know I can't carry a tune I sing along anyway. For some reason, Bixby loves when I sing. He'll pop out from where ever he is and jump in my lap...so I sing to him. He doesn't care what I sing...rock, country, Christmas songs...as long as I sing to him, he's happy. My lovable strange kitty!

AllCreaturesGreatandSmall -

Boo and I are truly bonded. He follows me everywhere and sleeps with me every night. I sleep on my side, and so does he, so we spoon each other. Sam then spoons me so we make three little spoons! He's very sweet. Here he is:

Soledad - he's a real beauty! I love his great big, expressive eyes!

My kitties are getting lots of Christmas songs lately too. Mosty I change the words to "Jingle Bells." They are never the same thing twice though, so I couldn't even tell ya what it comes out like! :D

I sing to cookie and she sings back to me. Usually I'll sing a line and then when it's her turn to say a word I point to her and she meows. :D

He's just a year, this month. He's so great, even when he's naughty I can't help but love him. His face is quite kittenish and he's a short cat, so I think he'll always look young.

Do I sing for my pets? Of course I do. My brothers think I am nuts! I make up songs for Drake and sing to him. I will sing along with a song and change the names to Draker! It's hilarious!

Amberlee- that is sooo funny! My sister sings that song to her shephard..."you are my shephard, my only shephard, you make me happY when times are sad"....

I sing and dance with my cats. I think they tolerate it..some better than others. Allie lets me waltz with her...and she lays straight out- legs totally straight...in my arms...Tenny just purrs. I think they LOVE my singing...and I also think they must be TONE DEAF!!!! But, what else is love, if not unconditional, right?

Yea! I'm not alone!! :D My kitties have "theme songs" as well as special spur-of-the-moment songs (lots of those have "meow meow meow" as the chorus) :)

Squirt's latest theme song is:

He's the Squirtmaster J
and
he's Trouble on Paws!
He knows he is!
He's Trouble on Paws!

I can't even try to describe the "tune" ;)

Yes, I sing to my dogs!

It goes like this:

Hansy, fonzy, schnauzer boy
Fritzer, fritz, my chicken leg poodle
Sparky, sparky, my puppy boy
