Mikey Is Very Ill

I've not been posting much lately. My cat Mikey is vey ill. He's really gone downhill fast from what I think is CRF. He has all the symptoms
and looks so pitiful.:( He cries a lot & now has stopped drinking. ( late stage, doesn't eat at all) I've made a appt. at the Vet for tomorrow morning.Don't
think he will be coming home again.:( This just breaks my heart.

Liz, I'm terribly sorry to hear this. I don't know what CRF is, but my guess is something wrong with the liver and that is painful. :( If Mikey is in pain, can you give him a painkiller until he goes to the vet?

CRF is Chronic Renal Failure - the classic kidney failure that happens at the end for many elderly kitties. Renal = pertaining to kidneys in English.

My sweet little boy Mikey passed over the Rainbow Bridge at 11:30 am this morning.
His passing was very peaceful. I'm sure he has rejoined his brother Redbud & good buddy

I miss Mikey very much, but I am so relieved that he doesn't hurt anymore. I would give anything I owned
to have him back if he could be painfree. The last few days he would come to my bedroom during the night and
make the most heartbreaking crying sounds and I would get up to comfort him & encourage him to eat or drink,
sometimes he would lap the water, but not eat. The only thing that comforted him was stroking his head and neck
or under his chin.:( Even now I catch myself listening for his mewing & twice I've been sure I heard it.:(

Mikey was the runt of Momma Kitty's last litter. Redbud was the biggest & Mikey was the smallest. His passing now
marks the end of any link to Momma Kitty & that makes me incredibly sad.

I brought Mikey's ashs home today.The Vet gives a terra cotta heart shaped cast with the cats footprint on it for all that want one. Mikey's
pawprint seemed so tiny.:( I'm glad he's back home & the circle is complete. I still miss the little guy, but I know he isn't in any pain anymore.

It gives you some peace when they come back home, doesn't it Liz? It always did for me anyway.

Myndi's ashes are due back from the pet crematorium tomorrow. I also ordered a paw print which I didn't know was available when Sparky made the journey. The vet will call me when she gets back. A bittersweet time.....
