A piece of my heart went to heaven today.
This house seems so empty and still.

13 years, 6 months and a few days, long ago
When I had extra love to share.
I met you among many cats living alone
Just waiting for someone to care.


I crouched down to the floor to meet one of your friends
And you crawled right up into my arm.
No matter how many times I looked at other cats there
You made it clear that you had the most charm.

So when anyone asks, I admit to the fact
That YES, you're the one who picked me.
So even if I had wanted to adopt someone else
You can't fight what is meant to be.

You lived a long life, 19 years plus some more
And while you were here, you knew love.
What more could you ask for, what more could I give
Than to send you home to our Lord up above.

Jen: You were the very first "cat lady" I admired when I joined PT in 2002. I remember fondly your posting pictures of all your furkids including Monte. It breaks my heart to see that another precious furbaby has made the trip to the Bridge. Please accept my condolences and my heartfelt hugs coming your way.
