I can tell it's winter again...all the dogs are scratching up a storm. We've tried everything to make them comfortable - vitamins from the vet, adding more fat to their diets, humidifiers, brushing them a lot...nothing seems to help. Does anyone have some relief ideas for my dogs?

My dogs live indoors and go out into the fenced in yard when they want. Our house is dry, but we run the humidifiers when it gets below the 'comfort zone' on the humidity meter.

You said you tried adding more fat to the diet, how?

You might try Lipiderm supplement capsules. They are very good for skin and coat. Most Petco or Petsmart stores should have it.

Fatty Omega pills on the vet's recommendation. They still itch. I will look into the lipiderm, thanks.

I just took Kia to the vet last night. She's been itching, itching, itching!!!!

My vet suspects that it's scabies because of where Kia is itching, but she gave her a shot of cortizone to combat it in case it's an allergy.

If Kia is still itching after 10 days, I take her back to the vet and she'll be treated for scabies.
