Do you have any pictures of your furries with that dreamy look in their eyes?

Here's Basil:

I have a couple of those pics, but I wasn't calling them dreamy, I was calling them drunk!- maybe my kitties look a little different?!

I always thought Ritz had kind of a "come hither" look in this picture...perhaps dreaming about Casper or Mr JOnes?

I agree, Nakita is gorgeous!

Actually, that was the ride home from the vets. This was the ride there

It was actually quite the trip. He was all over the car, the yard and the vet's office. Then he had to have the vet poke and prod him - and take blood, ouch! - so it was quite a busy trip for him and I think he was just glad to sit on Mom's lap for a bit. :) He is a good boy at the vet though. Only complains when the vet squeezes a little too hard, or looks in his mouth a little too long - and of course when they are taking blood - poor Tubby. :)

NoahsMommy, Nakita just turned 6 months old yesterday. I have only had her for 2 months but I see how much she has grown in that short period!

Stop growing! I want you to stay *little* forever!

Does you vet mind if he's not in a carrier? I would love to just bring Noah in my arms and let him roam around the car, he HATES his carrier so much. :(

That sounds like a perfect age for Basil! :) He turn 6 months old on November 29th.

What do you think? Think they would make a cute couple? ;)

I don't think the vet cares either way, although I do have Tubby on a leash. It would be hard to keep him in line in the vet's office otherwise, and other people coming and going don't want to put up with him getting too close to their cats and dogs, so I keep him on the leash until we actually get into the exam room. Then I have to try to keep him on the table while the vet examines him because he wants to jump down and just check everything out! I wouldn't take him in the car without the leash on either because he can slip out so easily when I open the door, and I don't want him getting out without his leash on. Especially at the vet's because they are on a very busy road. You might try Noah on a leash, but a lot of times cats feel better in their carriers because they feel safer - I know Peanut does. But Noah might not mind the leash and if it removes the stress of the carrier, that would be a good thing. :)

Oh, and I can't believe Basil!!! He's changed soooo much!! Who was to know that cute little black kitty would turn into such a handsome gray cat!!! I've never seen that in a cat before - veeerrrryyy interesting. :)

A couple......eeekkkkk! No dating for my feline daughter till she is 2 years old!!!!

When you start the dating thing early, they start to want later curfews, start talking back to you, miss family functions. Then one day they walk up to and say they are getting married!! No way, this girl is staying in this household a l-o-n-g time!!

*lol*

;) :D

I think we'll try that, thanks! :) I may try it out on the balcony, he LOVES going out there, but likes to jump up on the railing...that scares the heck out of me.

Yes, it's a good idea to try it at home first, before taking him in public with it. But don't forget...pictures, pictures, pictures!! ;) :D

Actually, I'll be starting Nakita on leash training too. The best thing you can do is introduce it slowly. A figure 8 harness is better than just the collar. Start off with letting the cat smell and get use to the collar. Once they are use to that, put it on them for short periods of time around the house for a week or two. Then attach the lead to it and let the cat run around the house with it on.

Once the cat is use to the harness and the leash you can go outside. Again, it's through slow introduction and alot of praise to make it work.

But then again, some cat's would die first before being seen in public with a harness on. Then it would show the human has won!

;) :D

Sounds like Miss Edwina's problem. She is such a fashion maven that she must be totally embarrassed to be seen in public like that....until something exciting catches her eye and she forgets all about the harness being there. ;) :)
