Merlin, my sweet friend, thou I never met you in purrson, your gentle self made quite an inpression on my heart. I know you had a wonderful life: going from a shelter kitty, to a very loved kitty of the home with the best cat meowmie on the planet. I bet it won't be long before you meet a kitty angel named and Max. He will help guide you around the Rainbow Bridge. I know you both will watch over your meowmie along with her other babies and all our loved ones until you will all meet up with her again. Just think what a fun day that will be. For now, sweet Merlin, rest and play and enjoy being pain free!!! :love:

Slick, sorry can not begin to tell you how I feel. Heartbroken comes closer but still doesn't quite make it. Hold on to the fact that you loved Merlin and he loved you. Sometimes love hurts like heck even when you know what you are doing is best for the other. Remember I'm only an email away!!! :love::love::love:

Helping Merlin to the bridge was the best for him, and the most unselfish thing of you, prolonging anything was obviously not in his best interest. Sometimes these things happen so fast, it's difficult to think straight..He can now start his other life, free from pain and suffering, while he waits to reunite on the other side..There is no greater Love than that. :love:

to heaven to receive their rewards for all they do for us while they are here.

I'm so sorry that Merlin had to leave you, Vickie. I remember when you first brought him home and were contemplating names for him. The time we spend w/our furkids is so brief. No matter how long they're in our lives, it's never long enough. You did the right thing by helping him to the Bridge. My heart aches. This afternoon I took a bit of a nap around 5pm (have not slept much in the last week). I was in my lazy-boy and just about to fall asleep when I felt Merlin walk across my chest as he usually does to find a comfortable spot. I look at it as Merlin's way of telling me that he made the journey to the RB and is doing OK. Many people in my local life don't believe that but I take comfort in believing it.

It's so empty here without him or someone one else to love.:(

Merlin was so lucky to be able to spend his last years with you, being loved and cared for like a Prince. He could not have found a better home. :) Not many would take in an older kitty, but you did, and I can see why you couldn’t resist him - such a sweet boy, he was.

Slick, I’m sure that when you felt Merlin walk across your chest, it was his way of telling you he arrived safely. He is now free of pain and surely getting to know the kitties at the RB, who went there before him - and you will keep him in your heart forever.

Did not sleep much last night. Kept second guessing myself and someone today commented that I will have to change my phone outgoing message as it's no longer "Merlin's private line." I think it will be some time before I can do that. :( My spare bedroom looks so empty without both litter boxes. My local shelters are screaming for foster homes but I remind myself that I'm not ready yet - can't help but look though.:rolleyes:

Thank you again everyone for your love and prayers. I know that almost all of you have experienced the pain of losing a precious pet. That's what makes PT so special.
