TYTONKA
A ten pound bundle of joy, Tonka is a purebred poodle, somewhere in the middle field between a toy and miniature. So sadly, he and Bocifus were left at a local vet's office and never picked up by their owners. Housetrained, he also knows how to "sit" and "stay." Super sweet and super friendly he gets along with some dogs and will probably do okay with kids. He's been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccinations. P.S. He also LOVES to have his tummy rubbed!

Oh my goodness.....THANKS for posting this Molly. Seeing that sweet face has cheered me up after an awful day. Is he at a kill shelter? I pray he's not. If he is, let me know ASAP and I'll see if I can get the national Poodle rescue to snatch him up.
I'd LOOOOOOOVE to have the boy. He's darling. I should ask the gang if they could make room in the bed for one more, hehe

Rest assured Aly, he's in a REALLY safe place. Between Southside Animal Shelter in Indy (where Max and Sammy and Liz's Moki came from) and Pet Refuge in Mishawaka, IN, I'm not sure which I would choose as the best shelter I've ever dealt with. Pet Refuge is EXTREMELY active in the Mishawaka/South Bend, IN area and pretty durn powerful too. They are a no kill shelter with most of the pooches being fostered in the volunteers homes. If I were a dog that needed to be rescued or had to end up in a shelter, I would choose either Rosie's place or Pet Refuge. They treat the animals like their own family members and get very attached to them. They are well taken care of and loved the entire time they are at the shelter or in the foster program. I'm sure he won't last long, but I will be more than happy to put in a good word for you if you want him. Isn't he a sweetie?? Bocifus (the Lab that was abandoned with him) is also a doll. If you are interested in checking out the shelter, the web addy is www.petrefuge.com .

How old is he? Do they allow out-of-state adoptions?

Karen, I believe they do, but I don't think they would do all of the arrangements. If you would like me to, I can contact them and see and tell them that you are in MA, but I know you pretty well albeit through the net and would highly recommend you.

Karen, I emailed them and recommended you, asked his age, and if they would be willing to adopt out of state.

Great News!!! Tytonka was adopted already!! I'm sorry Karen, they never answered my email and I guess they didn't because he had so many apps on him. That's only a guess though.
