Sylvester has stopped eating and is batting at his mouth. I think he has a bad tooth. He has an appointment to see the Vet tomorrow at 1:30. Please pray for him. I gave him prednizone, hoping it will help until he sees the Vet. He is my baby. :love:

Sylvester has a sore/cyst, the size of a pea in the back of his throat. Also his tonsils are inflamed. His teeth are fine. They have examined the cells and have determined that the sore is not cancerous, but they cannot be for sure. He is on anti-biotics and pain meds. I do not like what the pain medication is doing to him. He is like a zombie. So I will be calling tomorrow and have them give him something else. The prednisone I gave him worked enough that he was eating, so I will request more. Thank you so much for your prayers and thoughts. Please continue to pray for my baby's health.

Will do! Ask if maybe you can reduce the dose of the current pain meds, cats can be hard to dose, just like humans - different drugs affect different individuals differently!

I am not giving him the pain meds at all since the first dose. I am worried, he just stares and he is not sleeping. He has not slept since yesterday at 9:00 a.m. :(

Oh, poor Sylvester. :( That pain medicine doesn't sound like it's the right one for him. What is it called? Fister has had some called Romefen a couple of times and that worked well. I hope the antibiotics will get rid of the infection and he will be back to normal soon.

He finished his anti-biotics and his prednisone. Hmmmm........something still is not right. He had some hard food and was batting at his mouth again. I really don't know what to do now. I guess I will call the Vet again.:(

Thank you Randi. I did not want to take him in again because of the trauma it causes him. So they put him on another round of Anti-biotics and Prednisone. After that, if it does not work, he will have to see the Vet again. :( Please continue to pray for my baby. :love:

OK Just came back from the Vet. Sylvester's sore is healed. That is good news. BUT he keeps batting at his mouth so they are thinking that it might be a tooth that cannot be seen from the outside. Or maybe something stuck in his gums. We don't know. So Monday I drop him off for a dental exam, cleaning and X-rays. Then they will do what they need to do. Please continue to pray for my baby boy. Thank you for all your concern and I will keep everyone updated. :love::)

Well all your prayers worked! The Lord has heard my cries! Not only is the sore gone, but he has quit batting at his mouth. I am hoping this is over. If he does not bat at his mouth by Monday, I will cancel the procedure which was going to cost $350 - 550. OUCH! However, if he shows any sign of pain, I will take him for the cleaning and X-rays anyway. I am weaning him off the prednisone and if symptoms re-appear, I will just re-schedule the procedure. THANK YOU EVERYONE for your kind thoughts and prayers. They were needed and they worked. God bless all of you with your babies. :love:
