My Sweet Amy is gone....

My sweet little Amy crossed to the bridge this morning. Her health started to decline during the summer and it had been so hard for her to even walk across the floor. As time passed, she continued to decline. I am not sure if it was her CH that brought her down but I feel like it was.. I knew this winter would be extreemly hard on her and it was harder than I expected. It knocked her down and she couldn't get up. She was in pain and every breath was a struggle for her. I cried many nights, begging her to fight and get better but I realized it wasn't going to happen. About 3 days ago, she just stopped eating and drinking. Last night, I promised her if she didn't go on her own last night, I would end her suffering today. I called the vets office and they took her right in.

We laid Amy to rest yesterday right next to Boo. I laid her on her favorite bed that she loved so much, wrapped in her favorite blanket. (You old PT'ers will remember this bed that I made for her and how much she loved it and she STILL used it!)

How a person could miss one so much? I reckon it is because I spent so many years worrying about her, constantly checking on her to make sure she was alright.... It comforts me that she is next to Boo. What I didn't tell you all is that the vet refused to charge me for that visit. They knew how special Amy was not just to me but to everyone who met her (including them) and they kept her until we were ready to bury her....

I am so sorry to read of Amy's journey to Rainbow Bridge. I learnt so much about CH from Amy and she was the first cat that I had ever seen with this condition.
