They do a fine job spreading the word/advocacy on behalf of ferals, and I used to donate to them. Then my friend pointed out that they don't actually do the leg work of trapping, neutering, etc. like grass roots groups do, so I prefer to support those who are out in the trenches getting their hands dirty. My cat-lover friend had an issue with her town where strays were having kittens (she was taking care of them) and someone complained. One kitten died and tested positive for rabies, so the town trapped ALL the cats/kittens and had them euthanized!:mad:. She sought assistance from Alley Cat Allies but they offered no help whatsoever with her tragic situation.:(
